The rear power back door recently started to malfunction in my 2018 Toyota Rav4. I did some research to find replacement parts and decided on these since they were a lot less expensive than the prices for the dealer parts.
So far, I am happy with my purchase, and these seem to operate just as good as the OEM parts they replaced and are less noisy as well. One good thing about these lift gate struts is that they have the brackets already attached so it is basically a bolt on installation.
These do not come with instructions, but with a google search, you can easily find a how-to video on YouTube to find out how to remove the old lift supports and install the new ones. I also recommend using a ladder to hold your lift gate up while you replace the struts so that the weight of the gate is supported while the parts are being changed. Hope this information helps.

Saved a ton of money doing it myself.
DONT CONNECT THE STRUTS UNTIL YOU MOUNT THE BRACKETS!

I was skeptical but desperate when these were finally in stock, I had been wacking my head on the hatch for almost two years because I couldn’t fathom spending $1500 at the Toyota dealership for the OEM parts. Not incredibly hard to install. I did it myself with the help of a ladder to hold up the hatch. Once I figured out how to hold up the hatch and bolt on the struts without crushing myself it wasn’t relatively hard. I’ve read some people complain they don’t raise all the way up but you just have to program them to the height you need. They are a little slower than the originals but I honestly couldn’t care less. They function well and are totally plug and play. Definitely worth the $300 bucks.

I was a victim of the crappy Toyota lift struts. Found these, and decided to give them a try. Glad I did. If you’re at all handy, the install was really simple. I bet it took me half an hour maybe. Worked immediately.
I did read some information that suggested disconnecting the battery, doing some sort of reset, etc, etc. In my case (2018 RAV4 XLE), I didn’t do anything of the sort. Just propped the door open, did them one side at a time, put it all back together, and pushed the button. Boom, worked immediately, and has ever since. YMMV.
UPDATE ONE YEAR LATER: These are still working flawlessly. Very happy with the purchase.

Happy with the quick shipping, but poor quality😔

Unfit for purpose. Installed these in a 2013 Toyota RAV4 and they did not exert enough force to lift the hatch.

Initially worked perfectly. Started having problems 9 months later and no longer function at all. Hoping to get replaced under warranty but I bought manual struts as a backup for when the replacements fail, which I’m sure they will.

Not OEM but also not OEM price. I can put in 3 of these before I hit the price of one set of OEM parts. Fit as they should and install is straight forward if you are mechanically inclined. If you are looking for detailed directions in the box you should probably be taking you car to a repair shop and not trying to do this your self. This is not a complicated repair. Quality and function of the parts are good.

You may need to buy both the left and right power liftgate support because each is about 1/4 to 5/16ths of inch longer than the original equipment. Otherwise, the door may not shut properly because of alignment issues. Also, when installing the supports, make certain that the edge of the plate that covers the sensor wire on each side of the door does not come close to the door frame. If that happens, the door will not stop before shutting. I fixed the problem by bending the cover plate away from the door frame by placing a piece of wood over several locations on the cover plate and striking it with a hammer. I have added a photo of the cover plate and a portion of the strut after I moved the cover plate closer to the door.
