Initial Unboxing:
The product comes in a cardboard box. This includes the fuel tank cover.
Using the Product:
Make sure to wash the car with car soap or clean the fuel tank cover with soapy water or IPA before applying. Remove the 3M adhesive films on the back and correctly orientate them in the position before contact. Once you have applied the cover, put some light pressure for a few seconds to a minute to ensure that it adheres to the paint. After that, wait at least 24 hours before exposing it to the elements like rain. You can drive it right away, but don’t subject it to harsh conditions or rain especially.
It is a very easy installation that greatly adds style and contrast to your car. I like the different patterns and feel of the cover. It does a good job of protecting the fuel tank cover which is great. The only issue when I first looked at it after installing is how there is still some areas around the edges of the cover that still exposes the paint. Dirt and anything can get into those areas easily and potentially ruin the look of the fuel tank cover. It also doesn’t look as flushed as if it were to be fully covering the area. Maybe having a snap-on version would cover it more, but I wish it did cover more of that area, which does bother me, but maybe not others.
