These struts are not strong enough to lift the hatch on 2010 Escape. Installed with out issue and exact fit but will not lift hatch. Need to assist with one finger force and once open all the way they will hold hatch open. Slowly exercised hatch over full range a bunch of times to make sure nothing binding and checked to make sure that hinges were not the issue. Original struts lifted hatch with out assistance except when below zero but died a slow death. May have to go to Ford for OEM struts $$ ?

Removal of old struts and installation of these new ones is quite easy. As described in other reviews, more strength is needed to close the hatch door with these replacement struts. My wife can still handle it OK. But someone with limited strength might struggle with closing.

These work great. I am a woman and installed by myself. It would be easier if you had help to hold up the hatch back while you installed. You just need a right angle pick to pull the clip out of the old ones and they come right off. I did one at a time and used a broom stick to hold the door partially up. It is easier if you push the bottom connector on first and top connector last only because if you are lifting the hatchback with one hand and arm and trying to push the connector on with the other, the top snaps on easier. I am very pleased and these work great!

Old supports on my Jeep rear hatch had weakened and I was tired of slamming my head on the edge. The replacements were fairly easy to change by myself (def easier with 2 people). Once I unlatch the hatch and barely lift it, these take it the rest of the way.

Item was a perfect fit and seems to be of good quality. I’ve installed several of these lifters so they’re very easy to install. Now, our lift gate on our 2005 Escape opens with hardly any assistance. Just one of them was strong enough to hold the lift gate open while I installed the second one.

Appear to quality units. Fairly easy installation but had to use a 2 X 4 to extend the hatch height enough to install but really not bad.
