Setting up my vehicle with electric fans. I wanted probes on the cool side of the radiator so that the fans only run when the radiator warms up to 180F, this way they will not run while driving down the road. Also decided to run two switches so if one fails the fans will still work. I bought both a 1/4 npt and 1/8 npt 180f switches, plumbed and filled radiator and test ran engine. Temp of switches case was 200-220F, nether switch on. Double checked and tried twice. Next day found the upper switch in two pics as photo shows. Inside is a 80C snap action thermal cutoff switch. I decided to repair the unit, I have filled mine with two part epoxy, and made sure the ground is contacting the case. I order similar switch from another manufacturer and will be keeping this one as a spare, if it works. I have to drain the whole system before I can examine the 1/8″ npt switch and will review it separately.

The original worked to turn on, but would not turn off. When I asked them they sent me a replacement free of charge. The replacement works correctly!

2nd time I drove the truck after putting this in the fan wouldn’t kick on because the sensor came out of the brass housing.
