I really like this visor clip mount as an alternative to the suction cup models that never seem to stay in place. Up until now I’d been using a vent clip, which worked “okay” and served its purpose, but it completely blocked the vent and the back of the phone would either become ice-cold in the summer when the A/C is blowing or super-heated in the winter months when the heat is blasting. Since the vent is covered when the phone is in-place, I’d usually have to turn-up the fan setting to compensate which means I was burning more of the car’s energy than was really needed. Plus, with the new larger phone models, it was always tough to get it to fit the vent holder clamps securely (which usually required both hands to get it positioned correctly — no quick insert ad removal) while not interfering with other dashboard elements (like the radio, CD player, etc.) Frequently the phone just ended up in a cup-holder, which is pain when you’re using your phone for navigation (or the cup holders for …you know… holding cups.)
This Visor Car Mount is perfect for me. I was originally concerned that the magnetic connection wouldn’t be strong enough to withstand Ohio’s pothole season (all year long!) but so far the phone has stayed securely in place no matter the size of the street crater I’m not able to avoid. The extension arms offer custom positioning for just about any height or angle and you can easily make micro-adjustments from the magnetic ball-joint one-handed and as-needed.
The visor clip make this phone holder easy to remove and re-positioned as much as I like, and it doesn’t require moistening the back of a rubber suction cup or leave any tell-tale round spot stains on my windshield.
The product comes with a could extra metal plates so that you can adhere them to an additional phone case or a GPS device, etc. I love the flexibility this item offers (as opposed to the clunky suction clamp arm that I tossed in my trunk because it would release from the windshield whenever there was a temperature change (I mentioned I lived in Ohio, right?) The Visor Car Mount is also a lot lighter than any of the suction cup mounts I’ve tried, so that helps keep it securely in place as well.
I liked it so much, I bought a second one for my wife who had been resting her GPS device in her car’s change tray (or making me hold the GPS at eye level for her on any road trip!)

I really am impressed with this. It just seems well designed. I was expecting a small thing that had only one angle of adjustment, but this has four adjustments:
-The ball head rotates the pad
-A lockable dial allow you to adjust the angle of the arm holding the pad
-A lockable dial allows you to adjust the height of the pad, down from the visor
-A click-stop adjustment allows you to rotate the arm assembly right/left relative to the visor clip.
When you combine those adjustments with the ability to clip anywhere onto either visor, this thing really lets you put your device almost anywhere in the vicinity of the visor. The big strong plastic and lock-step adjustments make it feel like it will stay where you put it, perhaps even be able to press buttons on screen without the phone moving.
I ended up not using this because I am obsessive about not blocking my window, and ended up with a stick on dash mount instead. But if for some reason that isn’t an option, this is a great product. I also like that unlike suction cups, it blocks less of the window and allows you to get the phone up out of the way.

I wanted to use it for my rearview camera as the suction mounts don’t hold on the windshield and always break after a year. I have a plastic visor on my car and it doesn’t grip the visor. The suction on the magnet is so strong it pulled the magnet off of the back of my camera. The clip comes too far apart and then slides. Maybe if you have a cloth visor it may work a little better. But I doubt it. Poor design. I bought one with a clip on it instead.

This is an amazing item. Nothing much to say more than once you have it going it’s great. The adhesion on the magnetic could be strong. As in the part that is placed on the phone itself.

Really like this mount. WizGear makes several different magnetic mounts, depending on where you prefer your phone to be… Visor, window, dash, A/C vent, etc. The magnetic plate you use in or on your phone works with all of them. Iny case, I wanted on my driver side visor because it’s close enough to see and hear, plus people can hear me over road noise when using speakerphone. For the person that gave it a low rating because it vibrated too much, you shouldn’t be trying to watch a video while driving, and the vibration is a problem with your vehicle and not the mount itself. I’ve tried taking quick sharp turns to see if the magnet would hold or slide. It holds. Also, they give you 3 magnetic plates (1 rectangle without adhesive, 1 rectangle with adhesive, and 1 round with adhesive. I’m using a Samsung Galaxy S4 with a LifeProof FRE case. I was able to simply use the rectangle plate without adhesive and place it inside case between the back of the phone and the back case cover. This is great because I don’t have to use and adhesive, tape, suction cup, or alter my phone or care in any way. It just snaps on and snaps off with a little tug. Just what I wanted, and exactly where I wanted it. Great design!

Neat little device for a specific need.
I gave it a low rating because it does not hold onto my visor. I ended up flipping it upside down and it works just fine. The more troublesome problem is that the adjustable head fell apart after just 6 months. I ended up gluing it together to hold it into place (although it’s no longer adjustable)
Niche product, but needs a much better design.

I LOVE magnetic cell phone holders for the auto. They protect the integrity of your phone, don’t muck with your case, and it’s a handy, easy install. In some vehicles you have to find “just the right place.” I ordered two of these. One works great on the visor, and I had to improvise the location on the other one but once I figured that out, it was great. My only “wait and see” on this is that in Texas heat, we shall see how the plastic clip holds its tension. Summer still awaits, but so far, so good!!

Not the best fit if your visor is not thick, grip loses integrity pretty fast (might be this Texas heat), but other than that it functions well and simple to use. Not the most stylish look if looking for nice looks
