I received a Wix air filter that was manufactured in Mexico and its black rubber frame was too thick for the air filter cover in my 2008 Nissan Frontier to close properly.
However, the exact same Wix air filter I bought previously from my local auto part store are manufactured in China and have an orange rubber frame that fits perfectly in truck. After sending this black one back, I bought another one locally. Just like before, it has an orange rubber frame, made in China, and fits fine in my truck. Thus, I’m not sure why the rubber frame has a different thickness & colors between the 2 factories since they both use the same Wix part #!!! Buyer beware!!!

I needed to replace the original air filter in my 2010 Pathfinder and did not want to pay dealer prices. I first tried Fram bought locally, but for some reason it did not want to fit into the box. I was puzzled, as every air filter i ever bought in my previous cars fit just fine. I returned the filter and went straight to AA store and bought Purolator filter. Same story – correct part number and reference, but it would not go in on one side, no matter how hard I tried. So I went to O’reilly and got Wix – perfect fit! I was happy I found a good alternative to OEM, at a lower price. Since than, I just hit the buy button on Amazon, and the wix filter shows up on my door step 2 days later at a lower price than if I bought locally.
Wix makes high quality filters, this is one of them. It looks identical to OEM, including the color of the seal. I have been really pleased with their filters – they look and feel a step above OEM products, and even more so compared to some other products. My recommendation, however, is to first buy locally if you are not sure about the fit for your car. Otherwise, you will be paying returned shipping to Amazon.
All in all, anyone with Frontier, Pathfinder and Xterra will be impressed with the fit and quality of this air filter. Highly recommended.

My Nissan Dealer wanted 2 to 3 times more than what I spent on Amazon for this high quality WIX Air Filter for my Nissan Frontier Truck. The Nissan dealer filter is much lesser quality than this WIX Filter yet the dealer wanted almost 2 to 3 times more than what I paid on Amazon for this filter. It arrived quickly from Amazon straight to my house and it took me less than 5 minutes to install this WIX Air Filter myself on my Frontier Truck…. I LAUGHED at the Nissan Service Writer (salesman) when he told me how much they wanted to change my air filter. I said NO WAY, I will get it much cheaper on Amazon for a better quality filter. He didn’t look too happy…lol

I couldn’t tell you if this filter is any good or not. I remember an aircraft mechanic I worked with at ASA swear by WiX oil filters years ago, so I’m giving their air filter a try. The main reason I am writing this review is because of the fit. The Fram filter that was in my Titan when I bought did not fit good. The edges were so thick you couldn’t get all of the “prongs” on the bottom of the filter box to go in. The best I could get was two. The installation was much easier getting everything lined up with this filter. I still needed to apply a little extra pressure to the middle prong, but not so much that I worried about breaking anything.
