I recently purchased this product for my 2017 Ford Explorer in the hope of getting rid of messy and unsafe wires connecting my devices. Upon receipt of the product, I simply plugged it in, went through minor set up on my phone and viola, it connected the on the first try. Since then, I can leave my phone in my pocket and it connects effortlessly. I can now listen to my musical selections, audible all while receiving calls and texts on my car’s system through Carplay. I liked it so much, I bought a second one for my best friend. His care is a 2022 Ford Truck that didn’t come with wireless car play. Alas, now it does! Love this product!

Simple operation, plug it in, connect blue tooth via phone.
When it worked it worked good BUT LATELY it fails to connect about half the time. I am returning it.

The installation took only about five minutes. Apple Play appears every time after I start the car when I have my iPhone with me. If I don’t have my phone with me the Lexus software is displayed. My vehicle is a 2020 Lexus ES300h and my iPhone is a 13 Pro. I can easily go back and forth between the Lexus software and the Apple Car Play on the screen to change the climate controls or whatever. The steering wheel controls for phone, volume, and “next song” work fine. I recoomend this device.

I’ve bought two of these – one for a 2019 Kia Soul and another for my son (he has a Sony XAV-AX100 installed in his car).
These replaced a pair of cplay2air units that we had been using for a few years. While the cplay2air’s worked mostly fine they would periodically fail to connect, forcing you to unplug/replug the usb connection to reboot them before they would connect – usually while you were already driving (this problem was persistent enough that I ended up buying a short usb cable with an on/off switch to make the process a bit easier). There were also occasional gps issues that sometimes required a reboot to fix them.
We’ve used these for three or four weeks (recently on a trip from Toronto to Montreal and back) and I’m pleased to report that none of these issues have occurred with either of the two TEDFLOP replacements. Both my son and I are very pleased with their stability and consistency. They also connect about twice as fast as the cplay2air – the head unit reports that it’s loading from the usb and three seconds later there’s music playing. They are working so well that we didn’t feel the need to bother with a firmware update (we went through multiple updates on the two cplay2air units)
The only issue is they only like to connect to a single phone – even after both phones have been configured. We have to temporarily disable both Bluetooth and WiFi on the connected phone in order to connect (via the Bluetooth configuration screen) to the other phone. For me, this is an acceptable tradeoff for the added stability, and it doesn’t matter for my son since he is the only one who drives his car.
We are very pleased with these replacements.

My Daughter recently purchased a 2024 Kia Carnival SX, and it only comes with a wired USB CarPlay connection option, which unfortunately was something that wasn’t discovered until after she purchased the car. Anyway, I think the assumption was that new car manufacturers who offered CarPlay were using wireless Bluetooth connections to the Infotainment systems. My car is setup this way.
After a while, she became complacent using the wired connection to her iPhone, but she occasionally told me how she was getting frustrated with the cable and always having to plug in her phone then unplug it when she arrived at her destination.
I started researching options for the Kia, such as Bluetooth adapters, nothing usable came up, until I ran across this Wireless CarPlay Adapter. I found a few others listed, but their reviews made the products questionable, this one looked the most promising, so I purchased one and to my surprise, it actually worked quite well.
So far, the connection to the iPhone 14 Pro has been without issues, and have not experienced any lost connections or dropouts while connected to CarPlay. There is a little delay as others have pointed out, for the adapter to sync up when powered up, but no longer than my car with built in CarPlay. I would definitely recommend this adapter and purchase it again.

Just bought a new car that did not come with Witeless Apple Car Play. My husband told me about these devices, and I settled on this one. It was incredibly easy to set up and connect to both the car and its own wireless Internet address. I will be using this often, as there is a good amount of time when there is nothing good on the radio!

I bought this because my previous one would sometimes randomly disconnect and it was an entire process reconnecting it. Now that’s I’ve had this one for a couple months the main issue I have is, I will shut the truck off, go into a store, or whatever it is, come back out within say 5-10 minutes and it does not automatically connect. Now my truck keeps the power going for 15 minutes before it shuts off, so my guess is the phone leaving the range of the bluetooth is what causes it to lose the connection, but it’s annoying that it won’t just reconnect when I am within range, because I know it is suppose to, because it will randomly connect when I am in my house and there is still power to it. So buy it if you have a budget, but if you have a few extra bucks to spare, get a nicer one.

This is a relatively easy set up if you’re anyway tech savvy, as other reviewers have noted it can be a wee bit glitchy sometimes in the connection but not so much as to be a dealbreaker, most of the time it works really well, we use audible books, music, Spotify, and Waze Traffic and all of those work very well with this device.

The device works well to bring up car play and display the apps. the downside is that when someone calls you it gets confused and when you click to accept the call it does not connect to the vehicle speaker and you have to grab your phone and switch to speaker or something. The other downside for me is the power consumption. Since you are bluetoothing and wireless connected it uses a lot of the battery life if you are traveling any distance.
