OK here is all the info you need but could not find about this kit. This is an “ERP Exact” kit. Its not the FPS “official” Whirlpool box. BUT it appears to be identical and the price is great. The photo shown is incomplete; this kit contains the Embarco cover, jumper, relay, two thermal overloads, and the instruction sheet. The jumper is just a simple wire with male and female spade-lug connectors that allows the existing small female connector on your refrigerator wiring to adapt up to the larger male terminal on the new relay “white wire” contact without crimping on a larger terminal. Nothing special, just simple. The overload protectors are both Klixon just like the OEM kit. I did not notice a brand on the relay but the fit, finish, and installation were perfect.
Installation is trivial for anyone with a basic set of “repair skills”. I fully respect that many people just cringe at the thought of repairing a refrigerator but seriously if you have gotten to the point that you have decided you need this part based on hands on diagnostics, then you can replace it.
Diagnostics, internet research, and disassembly, took about 2 hours. Re-installation of the new parts took 3 minutes. Installed Aug 15, if it fails I will add more. If I don’t post again, its running fine.

This item was very easy to install,I saved so much money sears wanted $80 dollars to send someone out to look at my fridge to tell me it;s not getting cold,repairs not included. I had to do some investigating on a few forums to learn about possible causes for fridge not getting cold, After learning how a fridge works I was able to isolate my particular problem which was the starter not triggering the compressor. I ordered the starter for my model number fridge plugged the correct wires(3)into the new starter,plugged fridge into wall.The compressor started up right away and now my fridge is ice cold.

I purchased this item under duress; my Whirlpool 25 cubic foot side-by-side refrigerator/freezer wouldn’t cool/freeze. Probably my own fault as determined by a little research into the matter – I just didn’t clean the coils often/well enough. Okay, based on the same research I found that Whirlpool refrigerators are given to the failure of these particular parts. Considering the dubious option of calling a repair service and possibly spending hundreds of dollars, I thought I would just order this item and install it myself. If it worked, I would be happy as a clam, if not, well, at that point I would consider my alternatives.
The bottom line is, I am happy as a clam! I ordered this item on Monday and received it on Wednesday of the same week – granted, I paid to have to order expedited, but still, it might have taken longer. I reviewed the instructions carefully and managed the installation of the parts in maybe 20 minutes. Now, my refrigerator/freezer is cooling down just as it should, and I feel very secure about the installation and the parts. The parts were a perfect fit, and appeared to be Whirlpool-specific (matching the compressor).
Amazon never fails me, even in – and perhaps even especially in – times of duress! I spent a little time educating myself around this project, matched my needs to the Amazon offerings and it worked like a charm!

My KitchenAid fridge is making clicking sound and is not producing cold afterward. Some online researches lead me to this and sure the old relay is bad with moving parts when shaking it. The parts shipped relatively quickly from Pandora’s OEM. After taking the old connector out and I was initially planning on taking the old parts out of the connection box and replace with just the new parts that come with this package. But can’t find a way to open the old box without destroy it. So instead I just install the new parts on to the compressor’s 3 prongs directly. The instruction is very clear for using the right parts for your specific fridge. The provided extension cord will be needed since the one of the old connector’s size is slightly different than the new one. Did not install the cover cause it doesn’t really fit. The fridge works perfectly afterward and is making ice again. Very happy with the fix and impress wife and kids for being “the man”!

Solved my problem, but instructions not as good as they could have been. A YouTube video might have helped. Also had to do some online research as to which overload protector to use as the part numbers were not the same as my old one.

I wasn’t sure if this was going to fix my whirlpool side by side refrigerator. It was running but was not cooling.
I knew the relay was bad after pulling it off,but half expected the compressor to be bad also.
I ordered it over memorial weekend knowing it wouldn’t be processed till the Tuesday.
