The braided cable insert was too long to fit my jeep commander. When you pull the handle, it will not release the hood latch. When I examined it, it was between 1-2 inches longer. Unfortunately, I have it installed. I will try to repair it, before determining if I need to return it.

The plastic handle broke on my 05 Jeep GC due to the hood latch being misadjusted. I read several reviews and decided on the cable/handle combo since you can’t just purchase the handle by itself.
Since my cable was still in good condition and I only used the plastic portion of this set and I didn’t actually install the new cable. The plastic seems quite solid and installed easily with my old cable. Everything is back together and this handle set works great!

It’s longer than the original. But it still opens the hood at the very last possible stretch. So sure it works at least

The cable is a bit long so the release handle stays loose otherwise it works fine. Beats pliers.
