I purchased this unit in Feb 11 and installed it sometime in March and it fixed my check engine light.
In August, my check engine light came back on and the converter began rattling indicating that the honeycomb was breaking up. I had used it about 5000 miles.
I called Walker and they said that it was my engine exhaust was too hot and causing the converter to fail and that I needed it analyzed. I will call bull on this. 2002 CRV has an advanced engine management system and this is plain and simple a poor quality product. THANKFULLY, Amazon is replacing the unit for free since it is within the 1 year warranty. If the next one fails, I will look at getting a OEM replacement.

Fit of this unit was fine except for where it attaches to the exhaust manifold. The fit was too loose caused by the walker part. I found a work around by using shims.

Catalyst element broke free and plugged the exhaust. Unfortunately it happened just when my daughter was merging on to a highway. She was unable to accelerate and was stuck going 40 km/h in an 80km/h zone. You can imagine the rest. Do not buy this product. Picture attached for verification.

Bought this for my 2003 Honda CRV which was posting a code of P420 “catalyst system efficiency below threshold.” The whole process took about 2.5 hours, but one hour of this was cutting off the old bolts on the rear of the old converter with a multi tool with a carbide blade (I finished the old bolt cut off project with a reciprocating saw with a steel cutting blade which worked better). Couple of things to keep in mind: 1) New Walker converter comes with front donut gasket, so no need to order one (I ended up using the old gasket – it looked fine). 2) I ordered the Walker 35129 exhaust bolts – but used the old exhaust bolts to reinstall the new converter- they also looked fine. 3) I ordered the rear gasket (Walker 31383) which I needed and used. There is a good YouTube video from A1 Auto which goes over the installation of catalytic converter on a Honda Civic (same process for a CRV) – go and watch it – the video will show everything you need to do. I saved about $600 versus going to local muffler shop. You can do this project if you are motivated!

Purchased a direct-fit catalytic converter, and it missing mounting hardware and gaskets. Failed yesterday. and was installed in early January. terrible product that should not be allowed to be sold. the warranty policy is also terrible. you have to correspond via snail mail and there is no phone number or email warranty support.

Walker 53782 is the correct listing for 2007 CR-V.

Just a little shorter than the catalytic converter that it was replacing but it did not matter as the hanger had enough slack to not require any modification. Took about 45 mins to fit the new catalytic converter but removal of the old donut gasket took a couple of hours of repeated soaking with WD40 and prying with a screw driver. Spraying all the hardware to be removed with WD40 and letting them soak overnight will help in removing the rusted hardware. This catalytic converter comes with a donut gasket but no flat gasket and hardware. The Walker flat gasket is available at most auto parts stores and three numbers 7/16″ coarse thread 11/2″ long bolt with washer will be good for the muffler end(Ace had some Hilman stainless steel hardware of this size). Walker 35129 works well for the two spring loaded fasteners at the engine end.

We purchased this converter for our 2003 Honda CRV EX AWD. It failed within six months and we were provided a replacement at no cost. Now, the replacement has failed after another six months. I have always used Walker catalytic converters on other vehicles with great success. As a matter of fact, the last Walker converter we put on this vehicle lasted over ten years so we had no issue purchasing another. However, after two failed converters in less than a year, I’d advise staying awa from this product for your CRV.

Fits okay on my 02 Honda CRV but has a few awkward angles that make the pipe hang low or rattle. However, it IS a great price and resolved my check engine light. My exhaust smells much cleaner and some gas mileage was restored.
