Absolutely loving this stuff—my only regret is not getting it sooner. My wife and I recently picked up a used car that we want to keep in pristine condition, and surprisingly, it didn’t come with the standard clear protective film in front of the rear tires like many sedans do. I knew I wanted to protect that area, as well as inside the door handles to prevent ring scratches. As an added bonus, this roll is the perfect width to apply a strip or two to the front of the hood, which is prone to chipping, making it even more useful than I was originally planning for.
This film is incredibly versatile and can be applied just about anywhere you need extra protection. With a little patience (and maybe some heat), you can really work magic with it, even around curves and tricky spots. It’s also surprisingly easy to apply for a beginner with basic tint tools. I’ll be sure to update this review if longevity becomes an issue, but so far, I’m very impressed with the quality and ease of use all around.

First time using/applying PPF so keep that in mind. I wanted to reasonably protect a new carbon-fiber frame gravel bike I got so I decided to get a some PPF film and give that a shot for a better look than my typical packaging tape application. I got the Satin wide roll a a glossy 2″ roll. The glossy version is thicker so I put in the places where I think the bike will get hit by rocks more.
I used water with a few drops of liquid dish washing soap to apply the PPF. That worked pretty well but I did end up with bubbles that I wasn’t able to squeeze out, much more so on the glossy tape than on this satin variety. The satin was definitely easier to apply and ended up looking better overall, I just wish that I could get rid of all the bubbles. Overall I’m giving this 4.5 stars at this time, as I wish the PPE was a bit more conforming with the application of heat as it took a number of tries to get it to fully adhere around some of the curves. I can’t comment on the durability of the PPF at this time because I haven’t ridden the bike at all yet, but I’ll update the review once I’ve had some time on the bike.

Using this Satin Barricade film on Model R/C Airplane wing tips. quick test pics on white & blue gloss wings.
This film is fairly thick as it it designed to be a self-healing protective layer. It goes on nice on a completely flat smooth surface. Used some slide spray and a squeegee. It went down easy, but needed a little help from the heat gun on the rounded corners. If this is your first time using a similar product, you may want to test if you have more than just a flat area to cover. It looks great – truly a satin and not just a dead flat. Stuck down nice on the gloss. PLEASE make sure you spend time to clean and prep your surface accordingly – any time spent getting grime and dust off will pay off greatly in the end.
See pics for our scratch / self-healing test – The blue wing is made of painted in the mold fiberglass covered sheet. We used the same rough file and the same type of pressure that scarred up the chunk of regular carbon fiber. As you can see it really absorbed the scratches well. The after pics are immediately, and about 1 hour sitting in 70*f shop. The pictures accentuate the imperfections a bit, but in real life at quick glance, you can hardly tell. Compare it to the carbon fiber pic for what could have happened. This will surely help with preventing wing tip damage and hangar rash.
There will definitely be a learning curve for ANY curves, but for the casual user with mostly straight and no compound curves (automotive or otherwise) this stuff works great for protection and would highly recommended.

Barricade stealth satin clear PPF from VViViD lived up to its expectations. I have used other vinyl wraps from VViViD and have had a consistently good experience with their products. This was the first PPF product I have tried from them and I have tried similar satin finish PPF from other brands. I feel that the quality is good and it is a similar experience in terms of application.
Prepping the area where you are applying the film is probably one of the most important steps with this type of PPF. You end up with a matte like finish instead of glossy and any imperfections will bother you to look at. Take your time and I think even if you have never really used PPF, you can get amazing results with very basic tools.
It claims to last 8 years and has a self-healing finish. We will see about that I guess and I will come back to this review but it looks great so far.

Well, easy to work with is relative to your experience. A balanced soapy slip solution and a heat gun are the ingredients to a smooth job. I happen to like applying PPF to just about any glossy surface that needs to be protected.
I tested this VViViD Barricade Satin PPF on my Acacia lunar scale. The screen is a glossy plastic that needed protection from some of my mugs that have a rough ceramic bottom. This PPF has a nice adhesive that can be lifted many times to reposition if you apply enough slip solution. It also slides across the target surface easily. Squeegeeing out the excess solution is easy to do since the thickness of this film is probably around 7-8 mil. The film also cuts well, use a sharp blade to avoid crinkles and dragging the film.

This Vvivid Barricade satin ppf is so nice. It is packaged really well and the vinyl is thick which gives me confidence in its use on my vehicle where the high impact areas are. I installed this film on my side mirrors and it looks fantastic. I love the satin look of it in contrast with my glass black rest of the vehicle. Installing it was a little difficult with just the nature of the mirror shape and such but making sure you know what your doing helps. So far this vinyl wrap has held up very well and looks exactly like it did on day one. I love the self healing factor of it and the satin look. Now I want to satin wrap my entire vehicle with this ppf.
