My car put in 4000 miles in 10 days and was plastered with the squashed bugs in the front. Searching for something in Amazon (I love Amazon!), I encountered this bug sponge. Relying on the good comments and the inexpensive price tag, I decided to try it. I am so glad I did. It was nearly effortless. Yes, it needed some elbow grease and some sprays of Windex but it worked like charm. I also washed my entire car while I was at it. My car looks as clean as new, now. The sponge still looks good. I am going to use it for car cleaning from now on.

I bought this Viking Microfiber Mesh Bug and Tar sponge along with a gallon of the 3D Professional Bug Remover. We have two love bug seasons in Southwest Florida, one in the spring and a second one in the fall. If you aren’t familiar with love bugs, they are small black flies that tend to “fly united” and are often found swarming on hot asphalt (highways) and the sides of houses. Fortunately they do not bite, but they are insidious enough to sneak into your home and smash against the front of your cars, And there lies the problem. The little buggers are composed of some type of natural acid that if left to sit on your cars’ finish will eat into the paint. Then you really have a problem!
We use the local car washes every week to try to keep the problem to a minimum, but any time that we venture out onto a highway I have to hand wash the cars that same evening to protect the paint. We’ve seen long-haul trucks pull into town that have driven several hundred miles of our highways during love bug season. The front of the truck is almost solid black and the radiators are so clogged up that they are risking engine damage from over-heating.
But the combination of a proper car shampoo and/or bug removal solution along with warm water and a little elbow grease will take care of the problem. It’s important to use a microfiber sponge to retain the car wash solution and also rub off ALL the bug residue without scratching the paint on your car. This is the best combination of methods I know of to tackle this problem.

Living in an area where bugs are plentiful, I needed something that could effectively remove them without scratching my car’s paint. This sponge does the job perfectly. The mesh design easily removes bugs and tar without leaving any residue behind. Plus, the size is just right for handling and maneuvering around the car’s surface. I have not washed my car in months! I use to have a guy at work that would wash our cars on his lunch break for extra money but he got a new job earlier this year, mixed with the fact that its been in the 100s all summer, my car was looking very gross!
I bought this to wash my car with, and it worked way better than expected. Some bugs in the front I had to put some elbow grease into but for the most part, it cleaned everyone so well! I was really happy and knew I would use it often as I wanted to start keeping my car a lot cleaner. After the wash, I set it on the bricks in front of my house to dry so I could put it away with out worrying about mold or anything and SOMEONE STOLE IT! .. Its that good guys, people will steal it from you if you don’t lock it up. I will be buying another one, once its time to wash again.

Bought this to clean the front of my car from bugs as I’ve heard this makes cleaning bugs a lot easier. This product does help, but it feels very cheaply made. You get what you paid for I guess. After one use the sponge inside of the mesh did not fit properly, which is a nuisance when cleaning the car and only one side of the mesh has the sponge properly fitted. Overall this product is alright, get’s the job done but I’d look for something that would last a bit longer.

This is designed to get the bugs and other stubborn material off the front of your car, and itworks wonders. Everyone knows hhow hard it would is to get bugs off. Using this product makes things much easier. You can also scrub pretty briskly and not damage your paint.
