### Victron Energy Blue Smart IP67 Smart Marine Battery Charger 12V 25A, Float

Does as advertised. Has very good documentation that comes with, and the app is pretty slick too. Does get pretty hot though.

I used this to give the initial charge to my new LiFePo batteries ( ). It worked perfectly, and will be permanently mounted to the RV when I get around to it. This is a very high quality product and ruggedly built. It also has bluetooth connectivity, so you can monitor the battery state while charging.

This has all the things a techie wants in a charger. Want a set and forget charger, just plug it in and hook it up, no worries. Want a high tech piece of gear with some bells and whistles, pair to your phone, open the app and you can tweak the settings, set in power supply mode, lithium mode, or go advanced and play with all the settings. Going to be my go to LFP charger as I recently got a Progressive Dynamics 70A charger that I think will become my most used lead acid charger/power supply.

Awesome product!
Charged my LIFePOs on custom setting and then regenerated an old dead frozen AGM I HAD on regen settings for a normal battery!
Expensive but in this case you do get the quality you pay for!
Bluetooth works seamlessly too up to about 20-30 feet but that is fine to ensure no one further away could possibly mess with it.

Purchase this to charge my new lithium batteries before installing them in parallel in my trailer. This topped them off where the other charger I was using did not.

Have charged Litime, Ampere Time and Redodo batteries many times with this charger and there have never been any issues. Puts in a solid 25 amps for hours. The only issue I have noticed is that it gets really hot, almost to the point of leaving a burn if you touch it. It could be that I had it horizontal and not mounted vertical so the heat sink on it didn’t function as it should. I used a small 12v fan on it which kept it much cooler.

Seemed like a great product at first. It was used as an backup charger for a bank of LiFePO4 batteries primary charged by solar. After 3 years it suddenly stopped working. No activity when plugged in to AC power. Maybe an internal fuse was blown, but it has no user-serviceable parts. The Victron dealer needed me to send them the broken unit before they would do anything, but it was not really practical for me to remove it given where it was installed. I understand they don’t want to send a replacement just based on emails and I haven’t had any issues with other Victron equipment, so I went ahead an bought another Victron unit to replace this one (the 15A IP65 version this time). That one stopped working (different failure mode) after 6 months and very little use. Working with support now, but I recommend staying away from the Blue Smart line of chargers.

I bought this to replace a different brand. Our camper came with a Noco, but when I upgraded to a lithium battery, I discovered that the ‘lithium’ mode of the Noco does not fully charge a lithium battery ( it sits at too low of a voltage). The other problem I had with the Noco was overheating. If I left our electric fridge plugged into the camper, the Noco frequently overheated and shut off.
This was a relatively easy install, had to remove the old one, and get the new in one lined up and mounted. Connections on battery and A/C ends were plug and play. Bluetooth connection was easy, and allowed picking the lithium mode. The Victron charges at appropriate voltage and floats at 13.4, as it should. With 25A of output, it has never overheated, and now I can leave the fridge connected when we have shore-power ( which means no need to pack a 3-way extension, 2 more cords, and an AC/DC converter.)

These chargers were bought to charge 8 12v lifepo4 batteries. I had not yet bought the last 2. One I destroyed hooking it up backward. My fault. BUT reverse polarity SHOULD BE BUILT IN for such an expensive chargers. I’ll be buying cheaper chargers WITH reverse polarity protection. It likely blew a fuse but Victron makes it a point to fill the entire case with potting material, Including fuses which is inexcusable. The other three just die silently. They act like they are working but are not. I have mostly Victron equipment but these are garbage. Very expensive garbage.

Every parameter is adjustable to customize charging to suit your usage and battery type. Water resistant, and robustly built. With BT connection there are no buttons or crap on the device itself. It can also operate as a 12VDC@25A power supply. With as many as 5 stages of charging, this is truly an advanced battery charger. While it may appear to be pricey, it is so worth every penny as it is the most flexible battery charger I have seen. If you are new to modern batteries, no worries. It comes loaded with presets for every kind of battery on the market. A truly proper battery charger for all 12VDC batteries, new & old. I recommend this as the very best choice for a stand alone battery charger.
