Just as described.

Although this part saves some money, it is a time consuming and difficult install. Recommend for seasoned mechanics only. After getting the coil packs, fuel rail, spacers for the fuel rail bolts, and associated electrical connectors out of the way, there are various brackets & copious bolts that hold the camshaft cover in place (24 to be exact). Some have studs for brackets and wiring, so make sure to delineate those. The main fuel line will bleed the pressurized fuel, so be prepared. After camshaft cover removal the removal of the plastic oil separator is straight forward with 2 locking clips and a few torx head bolts. The problem is the place where this part is installed looks like it separates from the main part, but is glue welded in place. After breaking a portion of the cap, I was able to remove this part, albeit with some difficulty and see it was damaged. After careful installation of the new piece and old spring, I had to clamp the broken parts and apply some epoxy all over the pieces to reinforce and seal the cover and port back up. Let the epoxy set over night and reinstall in camshaft cover, reassembled the various pieces and parts-I labeled and diagrammed everything as I didn’t have access to a manual. After a test fire of the engine to make sure all the electrical connectors and fuel parts weren’t leaking, took the car for a short drive. All seams well with 10 miles and 1 heat cycle. Takeaways: Be meticulous with removal of parts and labeling-take pictures if necessary, Clean all parts and mating surfaces well, be careful of connector clip locks, The camshaft cover gasket can me cleaned & reused if you’re careful and the gasket isn’t damage-but be sure to add some silicone gasket sealant where the timing cover meets the head to stop possible oil leaks/weeps. This repair will only be able to be performed 1 time this way-the next will require a $800 (2023 price) valve cover assembly. Why there’s no part number for the plastic piece inside the valve cover is beyond me? Even if they charged $200 for it it’d be cheaper than the whole aluminum valve cover assembly. Good luck.
