purchased to replace the ‘cardboard’ gaskets normally used on these old VW engines. these work much better and seem, so far, to stop some of the leaks i’ve had before. all air cooled engines leak, but these sure seem to help!

These gaskets worked great on my 1971 Super Beetle I was leaking oil from the valve covers and so far they are working just received them today so I got them super early I was supposed of gotten them Wednesday of next week so I was nice getter them on a weekend so I could install them on my bug

These seem to be a lot better than the cork versions, but I’m still having issues with the valve covers leaking. I’m still using the wire snap to hold the cover on, next option would be to switch to a bolt on valve cover, or possibly a cast aluminum cover to put more pressure on the sealing surface.

Cork gets oil soaked and will slobber all over your new shiny crate engine, do the rubber ones and be done with it. Also they are reusable for the regular valve adjustments that need to be done.
