The dealer part was over $200. The Chinese knockoffs were as cheap as $30. I was looking for an option in the middle that would reduce my chances of having to replace it again in 2 years. I have used some URO parts for my old BMW, so it is a known brand with a decent reputation. This unit fit the left rear door of my 2015 Passat perfectly. It also works perfectly. The installation was fairly easy. I did have an issue removing the door card because an anchor is buried behind the puddle lamp lens. I didn’t see that originally. Once I found it the rest of the steps were straight forward.

My 2019 Tiguan was continually re-locking itself. We narrowed it down to the latch mechanism on the rear driver side door latch. This was a direct replacement. Seems to work as expected.
