### Descrição do Produto

2002 ford ranger 3.0. My son and i recently installed new heads after the old ones cracked due to a heater hose leaking and his temp gauge showing normal operating temp. We since replaced his temp sensor however he was nervous and not trusting the regular temp gauge so we added this and mounted the gauge to his A pillar. It is very accurate and we set the alarm so he can get early warning of any irregular temperature increases. Put my sons mind at ease.

I was a bit skeptical ordering this kit as it seemed too good to be true, but I went all in on it. I installed this kit on my 06 Scion xA since it did not have a temp gauge on the dash.
Here is the good, the bad, and the ugly.
THE GOOD
– Great price compared to other options that only include the sensor and gauge.
– Quality of materials seems above average. The plastic housing for the gauge doesn’t have any ugly molding marks, and the base of it is made out of metal.
– Surprisingly, the sensor is very, VERY accurate. I compared it to the OBDII readings, and they are within +- 2 degrees F. It even reads temperatures below 100F, which some comparable sensors do not show.
– Adequate wiring length, at least with my car, and it was relatively simple to install.
– LED lights on the gauge are very bright, and I do appreciate the digital numbers rather than reading from a needle. Makes it very easy to read while driving.
– The included alarm is a prime feature that other similarly priced gauges do not include. The alarm speaker is very loud, so you will not miss when your car is overheating.
THE BAD
– At a very low price, I am having doubts on how long the sensor and the gauge will last. Will have to see in the future. This will no doubt introduce another point of failure in your car’s cooling system.
– The adhesives included do not work at all. It’s not the only product that I have bought from Amazon that included cheap adhesives, so it was expected. I would recommend getting some emblem adhesive tape if you don’t want to drill holes in your dash.
THE UGLY
– The mounting mechanism for the gauge is not intuitive at all. There are no instructions on how to properly mount the gauge with the provided holder. The gauge comes with a metal bracket that is screwed on, but trying to place the gauge into the mount prevents it from entering. Removing this bracket will make the gauge loose in the mount. I made a temporary fix and just applied the included adhesives onto the inner sides of the gauge, and it was enough to hold it in place. Note to seller, please improve or include clear instructions for mounting, one star was removed because of this issue.
Overall, I do recommend getting this for your car if it doesn’t have a temperature gauge, and you don’t want to spend a pretty penny on frankly overpriced gauges. This one works great, but only time will tell about its durability.

Finally, an accurate (-+0.5F ) as I measured it at 160 and 180F. The alarm is easily set to YOUR choice!
The sensor (intelligent IC, fully compensated, like a Dallas 18B20 on a one-wire interface) is electrically isolated, so you can use proper sealants without disrupting the ground connection. The unit can be easily disassembled for Marine use- inspect solder joints, add conformal coating, reassemble with water proofing sealant. This is FAR superior to the old thermister gauges which measure -+10f around an inaccurate target temp (160f) and drifts with system voltage.

I did exactly what it is supposed to do. Haven’t had any problems.

Works great
Great quality

Gauge works but the stupid face has no way of attaching itself to the mount. I ended up super glueing. Otherwise for the price it’s awesome

This product did not work straight out of the box. Not to mention the only papaerwork it came with had bad instructions on it for diffrent guages. If you look at the item on Amazon in the pictures it shows wiring instructions which refers to a blue and white wire and when you get the priduct its a red and black. Granted i am a mechanic so its not hard to figure out on your own as dar a wires go. But the bottom line ia the guage doesnt work out of the box. Only reason for 1 star is that it came with the tap for a radiator hose so no drilling and tapping another hole is required. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME FIND A DIFFRENT GUAGE. It feels cheap and unreliable and it is.

I like that I can tell right away that the gauge comes on, it has a temp sensor that screws in near the water thermostat housing. Make sure not to put Teflon as it needs to ground to the block to work. The sensor has a quick connect wire to assist in not getting kinked when tightening it. I had run the wire and forgot to connect it back. I am using this a temp gauge on my Kawasaki Mule to replace a mechanical one I bought. I already had a positive and negative wire run from the previous gauge and just hooked those up and it came on. I still need to program it but at least I know it works and it looks nice. I have it set to come on when the engine is on.

Not at all water proof and will be hard to mount . but it is what it is .
