BMWs need as close to zero play in their u-joints so the line won’t shake under acceleration form 0 to about 5 mph or while going up hill underloads. These are greaseable Ujoints and typically and like these the caps are designed to be a little sloppy so the grease can go in and all around. This design is fine with one section only drivelines with only 2 Ujoints all going to a floating differential. BMW has NONE of that.
I knew what I just said when I bought it had and have zero intentions to use it in the BMW driveline. I was interested to see if it was infact the right size, I had gone to an actual driveline shop and they failed to find me one that would work. In the end I took a good one out of another driveline because I could not find one that was QUALITY and fit. Still looking. I’m on my about 5th failed try.
I know I could use this but it would shake just like how the old worn one caused the shaking.
