Put in a 2001 Mustang Drivers Side works like the original at 30% of the cost at the local parts stores. Get this part if you are looking for a replacement you wont be upset you did.

Perfect fit in my daughter’s 2002 Mustang convertible and works great! No instructions, but there’s a good Youtube video that walks through the process. One comment, if after removing the existing hardware you’re having trouble removing the old mechanism from the door holes, don’t go crazy like I did trying to hammer it out, it won’t work! Have a helper move the window around, it’ll take the pressure off the old mechanism and it’ll slip out of the holes easily once that’s done. Other than that it was a very smooth and easy replacement. The Youtube video covers how to replace the mechanism without removing the bottom rail from the window, I highly recommend that as it makes the replacement a lot quicker.

Not too bad to install, either. There are several videos on line for the install. One trick; don’t remove the window like the Hanes manual says to do, just get a buddy to hold it while you swap regulators. If you bend the stop tab on the old track at the bottom of the window out of the way, and do the same on the new part (obvious when you see the part and/or a video), you can save drilling out the rivets, removing the stops and having to re-adjust the window, etc. Cuts the time to less than an hour. Much less if you are good at removing the door panel. You will need a phillips screwdriver, a medium sized slotted screwdriver to bend the tab, and I think a 13mm wrench (could be wrong on the size) to remove the old regulator and install the new one. And a helper, who only has to stand there and hold the window from dropping on your fingers. Pick somebody who likes you, though. This is way easier than replacing the Chrysler van regulator I did a few months ago; that was miserable. This one actually fits in the door without acts of magic or desperation.
This part is identical to the one I removed (except, of course, that this one works), is quick and quiet, and about half the price of the OEM part. For all I know, this is the OEM part; TYC makes lots of OEM pieces.
Like most of the car parts I’ve gotten from Amazon, a clear bargain, and it got here faster than if I’d ordered it from a parts house. Super highly recommended if your window goes down and stays there until you bang on the door. Funny how they never fail in the ‘up” position.

UPDATE: stopped working after about 1 year. NO SUPPORT FROM CO. OLD review: Liked it. I have really no experience and followed a youtube video and did it. Its kind of a pain if you dont know what you are doing and esp if the front part if window falls out if the guide but I got it back in through another yt video. Its been a few days now and its working very well. I prices it at Napa at 150. Took me 4 hours but if the window didnt fall off the front guide then maybe 2.

Pretty decent for the cost, and my window now works.
“Easy to installl” is rather a funny thing to ask if it was, being that it WAS a power window regulator/motor afterall…
That being said, it was as easy as a window regulator could be. Whole evolution took 2 hours total. Hardest part was feeding those plastic sliders into the guide tracks. (Thanks Ford engineers). I watched a couple of youtube videos, and left the track attached to the window. Did it by myself, using rubber grip quick clamps to hold the window up. Got grease everywhere. I really didn’t see much point in writing a review, except for the warning that the edges are a tad bit sharp and I got a couple of paper cut type slices from handling it. So be careful. That is all.

TYC automotive products are my go to car parts when servicing my customers vehicles. The fit and finish along with the precision of the part rivals that of factory Ford parts. I have no trouble recommending TYC aftermarket parts. However, installing this part takes some skill and patience because you have to remove two rivets holding the window regulator to the glass mounts.

This product did not come with the bolts and nuts to install, delivery was fast but installing without the hardware was a job getting the bolts and nuts to get the job completed.

I have bought other items from this brand before and have always been happy with the build quality of the parts. This one is no exception and works as intended. Some had mentioned problems lining up the holes. That just means your new part needs to be plugged in and moved slightly up or down to adjust to the correct position. Use care doing this so you don’t jam it or pinch a finger. Very small adjustments!
I do have a big problem with how these units are packaged however. My first unit was shipped in the factory box and poked through the sides as well as tearing through one end of the box. The result was damage to the item in transit, prompting a replacement shipment.
This time, the replacement item, in its original box, was placed in another shipping box by Amazon. This arrived safely with no damage to the Amazon box but, again you could see where the item had protruded through the side of the original box ( likely during the original shipment to Amazon ). This one however, did arrive undamaged.
Seems to be a good item as long as it delivers in one piece.
