I paid for a full synthetic oil change at the local Ford dealership for the first oil change in my Focus since buying it used. Not sure that they actually used Motorcraft Full Synthetic, as I saw too many shady operations go on in the two service visits I made there. So I decided to just do the oil changes myself like I used too. Was gonna buy the Motorcraft Full Synth but this Triad brand I noticed on Amazon caught my eye, and I looked into it, and read enough positive reviews to give it a shot. Glad I did. My cars performance improved and it sounded better immediately. And 2000+ miles since have been great. Assuming this stuff continues to perform, I won’t be looking for another brand again.

I’ve been using this oil on all my vehicles for about 5 years now. I will never use anything else. You can hear and feel the difference right away. I went over 15k miles and the oil still had some life left. I did change the oil filter at 7500k though using a wix oil filter. I may push the 20k mark on this change just to see if the oil has life. Great oil, may be expensive but worth the money hand down!

Lowers engine heat. Picked up 3 miles per gallon on my Honda. Less friction. First use run for 5k. Will clean out any old oil and sludge. Then you can run it
15 to 20 k. It’s amazing how clean to oil looks at 10k after that first 5k change.

When I found this stuff for my wife’s van, I was excited because I could set it up on a Subscribe and Save and have it automatically sent to my house on a scheduled basis. This was important because we rack up miles quickly on that van. It is almost guaranteed that we will hit 5000 miles well within three months on that thing. As you can imagine, I change oil quite often on it. Well, I have to say that I am not impressed at all with this stuff! For one, I would lose oil out of the engine despite the engine not burning or leaking any oil. In the two changes I ran this stuff, I would lose a quart of oil between changes. Never had an issue before this oil and now that I am back to using what I did before, it still doesn’t. Only this stuff was causing me to lose oil. I can’t explain that or what would cause that at all.
Another thing I noticed was that the engine just didn’t seem to run as smooth as it usually did. I could feel things through the steering wheel more, like the slight roughness at idle every now and then. And on acceleration, it just seemed to have less overall smoothness and made it feel like it was really straining to get to speed sometimes. Weird…
But the biggest thing that caused me to stop using it? My fuel mileage. With this oil, I actually noticed a drop in my fuel mileage by nearly 1.5 MPG. I thought it was just because the engine was getting up there in miles. Nope! Now that I have the regular oil back in it again, my MPG is back where it usually is. In fact, I am actually running a thicker 5W30 oil in it this time and my MPG is still 1.5 MPG higher than it ever was using this oil. I don’t know what they use in this oil, but that is ridiculous!!! I probably burned the equivalent in fuel costs as it cost just to get my regular oil (which costs about twice as much as this stuff) over the course of an oil change with this stuff!
So, avoid this stuff like the plague! It is not a good oil at all and definitely not worth the cost. I did notice that the oil didn’t look any darker than it usually does at its regular interval, so it apparently was doing just as good of a job at lubricating the engine, but the overall items I listed above makes me wonder if I did any damage running this stuff for two oil changes. It doesn’t appear so, but I’ll always wonder now…
