I’ve read the complaints about cheapo cooling fan(s) that break, plus the housing isn’t exactly made of ultra-durable plastic construction, but it works as advertised. It fully and safely charges a discharged Traxxas 3000mAh NIMH 7-C Hump 8.4V Battery in a half-hour or less. With the iD system, and ANY OEM Traxxas battery, (NiMH or LiPo), you have an idiot-proof (and child-proof) charging solution for any Traxxas RTR vehicle. In hindsight, I should have purchased the Traxxas EZ-Peak Plus 100 Watt NIMH/Lipo Dual Charger with Id System , but it works as advertised. Time will tell if this proves to be reliable.

Ojo.. Si compras un Traxxas debes de tener en cuenta que no incluye ni cargador ni batería..
Así que prepárate para desembolsar mas dinero para poder utilizar tu producto.
Habiendo dicho eso continuo.
El cargador esta bastante bien. Cumple su función de manera correcta, carga bastante rápido las pilas. Tengo un para de baterías NiMH de 5000mAh marca Venom y las carga completas en 30 minutos.
El precio es justo, y no le veo caso invertirle mas dinero a algo tan básico como un cargador.

So far I’ve used this charger 3 times with my Traxxas 10,000 mah 2s LIPO battery that I use for my Stampede 4×4 VXL. It’s worked as expected and has done a great job charging the battery quickly and efficiently. First thing I had to do with the charger out of the box was change it to LIPO mode by plugging in the battery and pressing the selector button until the LED light turned from red to green. I left all the other settings alone and haven’t tried them yet such as the quick charge and storage setting. Then to charge the battery I simply press the illuminated blue Start button for a couple of seconds and the LED lights on the unit change to indicate charging has started.
Even after I ran my RC until the the low voltage shut off kicked in and couldn’t drive anymore it took about a little over an hour to fully charge the battery. After fully charged my battery gives me a good solid 45 minutes if not more of nearly continuous run time. That was at a nearby flat grassy park and with the original pinion gear installed.
When charging I can hear the fan inside running and can definitely smell the electronics working. So it’s best to charge in a well ventilated area. I also keep my battery sitting inside my Colcase explosion proof bag while charging or not in use. While charging though the battery cables are too short to allow the bag to stand up straight but good thing it has dual zippers so I just zip it with the battery cables sticking out the front and plugged into the charger.
Another thing I have to mention is a couple of times when I connected the battery to the charger the charger’s red light would blink and I thought my battery was bad or the charger was broken. Not at all. I just unplugged the battery and plugged it back in. The connection was just a bit loose as I didn’t plug it in snug enough. Now I know to make sure it’s snug every time.
That’s about it. Although it’s a pricey charger I think it’s well worth it to get a full charge out of my battery in a short amount of time. Plus the unit is small enough that I can toss it in my power screwdriver carrying bag for storage or to take with me when going out. I’d definitely recommend this one.

Decent product. Smells of plastic while it’s charging the battery but no fire (yet). Charges a lot quicker than the wall/cigarette lighter -weird, stupid connector thing I got with my Traxxas. Also tells you if the battery is bad by beeping and giving it a level 3, meaning it won’t charge. Keep your batteries charged monthly if you purchased Traxxas branded batteries. They don’t tell you that they die pretty quickly and won’t charge if you don’t keep them on the charger once a month. I went about 6 months of not using it (it was fully charged) and it’s now dead. You have been warned.
