I put 1500 miles and it’s been 3 weeks and no issues. I like that Amazon tells you what others bought to help you out. There is another one they sell that is related to the torque converter lockup. Make sure you order it and test it with an ohm meter before installing. I made a mistake and reversed them and in a week my issue came back. I fixed it and tested the second time and realized my old ones was low on ohms and that I reversed it. I let my transmission sit overnight to make sure I got all the fluid out. I purchased 3 one gallon Vavoline CVT fluid which works and is rated for the Subaru. You have to get the transmission temp from 90-110 degrees when filling until it drips out. This saved me almost $1200 in parts. You don’t need to lift the car or reprogram it. I would also recommend replacing your differential fluids if they are old. I might change my fluid again in 10k miles. I did it twice already.

I put this in my valve body yesterday. It fixed my fault code in the car. Two things that weren’t good:
    – The plastic cover is cheap and broke, had to use the old solenoid plastic cover
    – It didn’t fit my valve when going in, had to take the large O ring off and use the O ring of my broken solenoid. Even then I had to force it in my valve body

These don’t affect the functionality of the solenoid so I didn’t dock a star. Will see in a couple of months.

Got about 1800 miles on this and it solved my Torque converter solenoid check engine light codes in a 2015 Subaru Crosstrek. Transmission seems to act a bit weird when it’s hot, around 190+ degrees but that could be due to needing a relearn or new fluid. It’s working so that’s what counts.

Product fit 2011 outback 2.5 and worked without issue.

    Thank you! Worked great!

It fit perfectly. So far, it beat’s Subaru’s $1,000+ valve body. I will update the review if/when it fails. I think product reviews are the best thing to hit the consumer retail industry.

It is also easy enough to replace, so if you want to roll the dice and not have to go through a whole bunch of dinking around when the cheap version fails, this won’t disappoint you.

2014 Subaru Legacy with the CVT and the torque converter lockup failure code. The hardest part was getting the cover off of the transmission, as Subaru glued it on pretty well. I think I used a slide hammer attached to a bolt.

This part failed on me after 500 miles.
Don’t waste your time putting it in.
I found a guy on eBay selling used OEM solenoids that had been tested. I’ve put one of those in and have been going good for 2000 miles now.

Failed after 1000 miles. Do not buy!

  10. Daniel K.

Worked for a month just like a bunch have other people have said and failed. Huge job to put this in on your own. Makes no sense why they wouldn’t just make a decent part that lasts. People would pay double for a part that actually worked. DO NOT BUY.
