So far this has been a reliable product a few months after installation. I mounted it in the center console armrest and connected to an aftermarket radio. works well with my I phone and enables function through the head unit via apple car play.

Bought this for a pioneer head unit which had a rear entry usb port, needed somewhere to plug the phone into for CarPlay to work, rather than the loose hanging cable pioneer supplied…so drilled a hole in the dash and fitted this usb port to the dash!
Works a treat and my Apple CarPlay is happy!

Was tired of wires hanging below my dash for my head unit, this fit perfectly in the cigarette lighter slot. Much cleaner look.
Wires are super long.. be prepared to do some stuffing.

I wanted to have an oem looking usb plug in my cadillac for my upgraded headunit (alpine ilx-f259), no compatibility issue even with alpine stating that only alpine usb extensions would work, carplay and android auto both work perfect. I RECOMMEND

I know I wanted this but I was skeptical because I had heard of people buying these and then not working or whatever problems they had with it however it worked instantly for me and I couldn’t be happier I use this on arcade1up build in order to plug in controllers in boot things from flash media and it hasn’t let me down yet and I’ve already been using it for days.

The plug was too large to fit in the hole on the dash. Had to cut away some of the dash to enlarge the hole to make it fit. Other than that seems to being doing it’s job.

This was a good addition to my Jeep Wrangler. I was installing an Alpine 650w head unit that only has 1 USB input. The factory cable is in the center console, so I wanted something on the dash.
It will fit in a cigarette lighter hole, but I wanted to keep that. So, I drilled a 1 1/16″ hole and mounted this using the provided hardware. Some hot melt glue from the back to keep it still.
It works with the Alpine stereo and my Iphone X for CarPlay. Good job! This seems a quality item.

This product replaced a previous similar product that I had purchased last year. The main advantage with this dashboard panel is the nut in the back that firmly secured the panel to the dashboard. It was a bit loose at first, but since I didn’t really have a use for the rubber cap, I attached the washer to the inside of the dash and was able to get the nut tighter and the panel was no longer loose. So now I have a USB jack to accommodate Android Auto and the other for Apple Play. I purchased the 6 foot version and Android auto works fine on my Pioneer AVH-4200NEX.
