Compared to the stock part removed the Timken part is a much better build quality. Bearings fail when the seal fails and allows contaminates to enter. In a side by side comparison the Timken seal is obviously better than the original part.

I just replaced both front hubs on my Land Rover LR3 with 107K miles. Apparently this is a common problem at about 100K. I thought about buying less expensive hubs- there are some on Amazon for half the price. In the end, I decided it was worth paying more for Timken quality. The fit was perfect. Some reviews say this is the OEM supplier, but they were not identical to the ones I took out, so I am not sure. Time will tell, but for now I am happy with them. They were not labeled “Timken”, or anything else.
Update: three years and 45,000 miles later and everything is still perfect.
Update: six years and 80,000 miles later (from install) and everything is still perfect.
Update: Jan 2023, 115,000 miles later (from install- total miles 224,000 miles) and everything is still perfect. They have officially outlasted the original bearings. However, nowhere on the boxes, or the bearings was there anything indicating the manufacturer. “Timken” was nowhere to be seen. I think they are probably not actually Timken bearings, because I have seen bearings labeled “Timken”. I am happy with the performance. At the time they were the most expensive on Amazon, but much cheaper than any real Rover parts supplier.

I installed this a few months ago thinking I would get a cheaper wheel hub than the LR OEM one. Just this past week I had my other wheel hub go bad and decided to order an OEM one from a reputable LR parts supplier. I was shocked to realize that the OEM wheel hub LR uses is this exact Timken hub. I matched the part numbers on the box. The Lr part number is LR014147, but if you match the timken part number on the box it is this exact one. I paid 249 for it. Save yourself some money and buy this one.

PSA: The Timken hub I have received from Amazon turned out to be a counterfeit! Take a look at my pictures. I had order this less than 20k miles ago and it has already failed. Google TImken and counterfeit and you will see a whole host or articles. Recently my driver side hub began to go bad so I ordered a new one from a reputable Land Rover Supplier hoping they would just price match amazon for me. When I called them up they said there was no way as the price was lower than what they buy it form Timken for. This, on top of the hub failing prematurely made me curious so I called Timken Corporate directly and they stated to me they do not sell to Amazon only through authorized dealers. Amazon gets their stock from multiple places so there is no guarantee you will get an authentic one. Stay away, this is a huge product safety issue and even after bringing this up with Amazon, they have done nothing, Call Timken and look on Google for yourself!

Item fit great and looked to be equal to or better than the original.
Overall repair was smooth and problem was solved.
On a side note the product did not come with a new axle nut. If you don’t want to reuse your old one or you cannot reuse it, this is a good piece of information to know.

Excellent Product, I went the cheap route on a hub bearing at half the cost and it failed very shortly after install. Needless to say this Hub was the OEM to my LR3 and upon unpacking I noticed the enhanced quality over the less inferior part it was replacing. Would highly recommend this product over all others if replacing worn out Hub Bearings on your vehicle.

My car didn’t pass inspection in NYS on 1/2021 because of a worn front wheel bearing. So I ordered a pair of these. Now, a year later…you guessed it – my car will not pass inspection again – for a worn front wheel bearing. I recommend that you do NOT purchase this product. My next step is to review my purchase to see if I’m due a refund.
I had to wiggled the wheel when on the lift because I couldn’t believe it.
