    While this part is clearly made from a different alloy than OEM as it is a bit lighter, it is built well enough.

    The hole the cam follower rides in is the correct diameter and smooth enough.

    Oil pathways look very similar to OEM, should work fine.

    I verified the pathways for the exhaust cam adjuster by spraying some brake cleaner through them, everything matches the OEM part.

    the mating surfaces are all very smooth and accurate dimensions, the main opening is quite straight and the guide/keeper pins are present, and easy to remove if desired.

    regarding the gasket keeper/guide pins on either side of the cover, I recommend test fitting this cover to your engine without a gasket (not screwed in, just hold in place by hand) and see if you can get it to sit flush all the way around. I couldn’t. Either the front or rear guides would set in place properly, never both. I had to remove the rear one and then it sat flush. now installed with a VW gasket I have no concern it will leak.
