Pump worked great for transferring gasoline.

GOOD LITTLE PUMP FOR THE MONEY MAKES FUELING OUR GENERATOR MUCH EASIER

I have used this several times to fill up ATVs before trail rides and to top off while we are out. It’s very quick, and takes a little work out of the trip. The auto shut off is great, and keeps from wasting fuel through spills. I am very happy with it and will likely pick up another one for kerosene.

I fill up my tractor on a regular basis using 5 gallon jerry cans. These come come with the no-spill nozzle with a ridiculously low flow. I’ll be standing there for 5 minutes just to empty one can. I even installed vent on the cans to make it go faster since additional venting does make it flow better. But either way, it makes a mess. I ordered this to try it out and it come with three adapters for different jerry cans. Otherwise, it’s all assembled. You do need to put in 4 AA batteries.

I installed it in the one jerry can with a cracked collar. I always break them since they support the weight of the can while filling up the tractor, it just takes too long to fill it up and the weight just ends up killing your arms. This thing is great. It’s easy to install and move from can to can. Sure it’s not as fast as the old nozzles, but I don’t have to hold the can and it takes just a few minutes to transfer all the fuel in the tractor. If you’re going to use it on a regular basis, or even if you’re not, this is a game changer. It makes it so much easier to finish the job. I highly recommend it!

This pump rocks: just add 4-AA batteries, HS crew on your gas can and you’re open for business. I was initially worried that it would pump too fast, but the advertised 1.5 gallons per minute is believable and seems just right because the overflow shut off really works. Now I can use my 5 gallon cans without breaking my back. No more pouring into 1 or 2 gal containers to handle easier and eliminates costly and messy spills. Great stuff.

I live in a remote location on a mini-ranch, so making a run for fuel for my equipment is not convenient. Thus, I have a solar-powered refueling station. In the past, I had to lift and hold the fuel cans at chest height to add fuel to the refueling station – an awkward situation. I had the opportunity to order this Tera Pump fuel transfer pump, so I figured I would try it.

I videoed the first time I used it and timed how long it took to transfer six gallons of fuel from the can to the fuel station. Using my video editor, I sped the video up. It took 4 minutes and one second to transfer six gallons of fuel into the tank. It bears mentioning that the fuel temperature was below freezing, probably slowing the transfer a little to 1.5 gallons per minute.

I have since transferred 36 gallons of fuel on the same set of batteries (4 x AA – not included), so the transfer pump seems reasonably good on batteries. I used alkaline batteries to get started, but I will switch to rechargeables from now on.

I tested the automatic shut-off. It works as expected. Naturally, I have to let the pump sit outside to air out before storing it.

Overall, I’m pretty pleased with this transfer pump. It seems well-designed, doesn’t leak, and, best of all, saves my back and avoids spilling fuel.

The pump has worked well. No more fighting with pouring gas into mower

  8. Sarah D.

Not quite like having my own gas pump, but it is way easier then lifting 5 gallon cans of diesel up to fill the equipment. The shutoff works and it’s fast. Definitely recommend
