This will allow me to now charge both my motor bikes from one charger source. It will take a bit longer to charge the batteries but for my purposes of battery maintenance they work great.

    ottimo prodotto originale

I’m using the coax splitters for heated FirstGear motorcycle gear, and it works perfectly and saved me $150+ trying to buy a dual heat controller on RevZilla. This splitter plugs directly into my jacket and pants and works perfectly for individually controlling their temperatures. No loss of power that I noticed, I had both set to the lowest warmth setting and was nice and toasty on a 40F day.

Ruggedness seems good and I appreciate the water-resistant connection covers, although hopefully I won’t have to test that out anytime soon.

Well after I installed this on my motorcycle I thought my usb port tgat i use to charge my phone shorted out and caused the fuse to blow 10amp fuse. Then I noticed my other accessory wasn’t working has a 4 amp pull max so upon checking out the Y splitter I realized the wiring in it was no good took that off and put things back how they were and now both accessories work again . I was trying to eliminate some of the wires under my seat well scratch that idea. I’m not worried about contacting the seller because I’m just going to cut my loss and move on.

I bought this so I could charge my phone on my bike. First off, it is very good quality and this was the higher end piece compared to others on amazon or other places. I got the splitter so I could have a USB and a 12v charger at the same time. It worked great until my bike died..hehe it isn’t the products fault. I need to buy a commander of some sort which is on the way, but other than that it worked great and all wires were connected and overall a great product. My product only came with one little rubber cover instead of two. I don’t know how that happened but it was fine for my situation.

Wow! The quality on this part is top notch. I use trickle chargers on my motorcycles and off road toys… This connection makes everything I have used in the past seem cheap. I bought this Y connector for my Ducati Hypermotard. I have an sae – usb to charge my phone and just bought an escort redline radar detector for my bike. I figured wiring everything this route will eliminate the need to splice into any of the wiring on my bike (at least until I’am sure this is the setup I want to run permanently) I’am sure my needs aren’t going to match most other buyers out there but its an sae Y… So, we are all trying to accomplish the same thing at the end of the day. I did a dry fitment of all the components earlier and this cable did what it was supposed to do. The weatherproof rubber boots are a nice touch as well.

I purchased this to complete a simpler on-shore charging system for my boat, the kit will work for any situation where you need to periodically charge or maintain 12volt batteries.

This Y adapter is very flexible and has a good feel to it. The connections are tight and secure. Each connector has a provided boot to provide some protection to the connection. The splitter worked great for my purposes and is now allowing me to charge two batteries with a single charger.

The charging solution I am using this with includes two different charging sources, a Suaoki 60Watt solar and a Noco Genius G3500 Smart Charger. Both are great and provide a similar amount of power to the batteries. The solar charger does not work so well at night though, and the wall charger does not work when out camping on the boat.

Using the Suaoki solar charger requires the using of a solar charge controller for safety. The Suaoki can be directly connected to the battery, but then the voltage must be monitored as it can overcharge your batteries and lead to premature failure or worse. I am using the Instapark PWM charge controller for this task and it is a perfect match to the system.

The NOCO Genius uses properietary connectors and while it comes with a few different options, none of them made it compatible with my requirements. I ordered the NOCO to SAE adapter and now it connects to a standard SAE plug and works well, interchangably with the Solar charger.

In order to add flexibility in placing the solar panel or connecting the NOCO charger, I added an SAE extension. Essentially this is a 12V extension cord. Any SAE to SAE cable will work provided it has sufficient gauge(AWG). For a 15ft length this should be at least 12AWG with 10AWG or even 8AWG being better. For a 5ft length 16AWG or 14AWG will be acceptable, of course 12,10 or 8 still better. Anything smaller less than those maxiums will degrade the charging capacity as it will cause an significant voltage drop. Here are a couple alternatives that look good.

I used two ring terminal to SAE adapters, one for each battery, as the aligator clamps were problematic and not particularly reliable. The aligator clamps meant that I had to climb into the compartment where the batteries are stored in the boat and almost always insured a good bump on the head. Sometimes I would come back the next morning to find one had fallen off. Using ring terminals insures a secure connection to the battery and allows me to quickly connect/disconnect without bumping my head. I used the Tetra-Teknica MotoBasics 16 gauge 2 feet 10A fused 2 pack for my solution.

In order to charge the two batteries in parallel, I needed to add an SAE Y adapter. The OptiMate Y-splitter worked nicely. I disconnect it when not charging as I do not want power accidentally pulled accross this connection if the boat is using a single battery. I am looking for a solution, a diode that will allow me to keep this connected permanently without that risk.

The system is working well and keeping my batteries topped off between outings without a problem.

I use this for my heated clothing when I’m on my Harley. Works great!
