What can I say? Tailgate cables do eventually wear out, rust out, and fail. But they are SO easy to replace and this one works perfectly in my 2001 Tacoma. I probably won’t ever need to replace them again, but if I do, I’d buy these again.

Well made, but ended up being a little longer than the stock ones thus allowing my tailgate to rest on the rear bumper. It’s caused som of the paint to be scratched on the tailgate.

You have to remember to bend them inward, towards the inside of the truck or they will get caught between the bed and tail walls when closing the tailgate. Seems obvious but easy to forget. Easy to install and quality product.
