I purchased this for a 2003 Nissan Maxima that I recently purchased as a used vehicle of course. We’ll see if it stands the test of time but it was literally half the cost or more of other alternatives. For me, this was a 1 man job that took roughly an hour of time.
To remove the old hose, I loosened the banjo bolt with a 24mm socket at the PS pump, let it drain thoroughly and then removed the bolt. At the halfway point of the hose, I did not remove the bracket completely, I just separated the hose from the bracket with a 1/4″ drive 10mm socket. I recommend reusing the bracket already attached to the motor as there’s little reason not to and will save a lot of time.
Next, I removed the hose assembly at the top near the strut tower. This should be pretty self explanatory. I believe you’ll need a 14mm wrench to remove the flange end and 24mm (In my case I only had a 1-5/16″ wrench) to remove the electrical connector. Then remove the two 10mm bolts attaching the assembly to the body.
Installation is pretty much reverse of removal starting at the bottom with installing the hose to the pump with the banjo bolt. Don’t forget to use the new copper crush washers. You’ll have 2 that come with this hose. Note, I did have to pry the old copper washer from the pump during removal.
Next I reassembled everything up top before reassembling the middle bracket. Again, pretty self explanatory.
The most time consuming effort is reinstalling the 10mm bolt in the center bracket as space is a little tight. After I fumbled around with it for 20+ minutes, I took a zip tie and tightened up the brackets together to align the bolt holes and then it went smooth as butter.
After everything is reassembled, don’t forget to fill your reservoir with the recommended fluid and bleed the system. I did this by turning the wheel back and forth (while the front of the vehicle was on jack stands) with the engine off approximately 15-20 times and topping off the reservoir as needed. Then, start the engine and repeat.
I experience no whining from the PS pump with this hose and if it holds up over time, for less than $60, it’s a great deal!

Works fine, but fitment not same as OEM so had to fiddle with it to get it to line up and fit. Missing OEM foil heat shield as well. It works fine though.

Installed this on a 2002 Infiniti I35. Everything fits and no problem so far (no whining noise). I did spend the time to bleed the system after installation and refilling it with ATF fluid (I use the conventional Valvoline Dexron ATF). The most difficult task I encountered was trying to align the banjo bolt and the hose end so the bolt would screw in properly. I suggest anyone who tries to do this on his own should take note of how the original hose was shaped (after it’s been taken off the car) and try to “pre-shape” (or try to “bend” the new hose in a similar shape/configuration) the new hose before putting it back on. That should make the task of trying to fit the hose in the tight space around the pump and install the banjo bolt a little easier. The hose (manufactured by a Chinese company, who according to their website specialized in making automotive high pressure hoses) seems to be well made, and will see how long it lasts. For the price it seems to be a great deal.

This fit on a 2002 Nissan Maxima. The banjo fitting is no fun to install, and the mid-length line holder will never go back how it was on the original line … but that’s not a fault of this part.

Whining noise after installation. I even added fluid before i tightened the banjo bolt . I let the fluid drip out of banjo area
to try to get all the air out. Still whine. Then i took to my local mechanic and they put a vacuum on the system to remove any air there might be. Still whines. But steering works fine.

Replaced the Power Steering high pressure line on my 2002 Nissan Maxima. Perfect fit and I’ve been driving it for a year and a half with zero issues. This cost at least 1/3 the price of most out there.

The OEM part on my 2001 I30 had a flexible aluminum heat shield, the Sunsong pat used a fabric heat shield held in place with plastic zip ties. Not a big deal for me as you could always use the flexible aluminum shield from the OEM part. I just used it as is but added addional wraps of stainless wire. The new part also included two new crush washers for the banjo bolt and new rubber grommets and metal spacers for the upper mount. It also included a new engine block mounting bracket, however I kept the existing one. After 300 miles in SoCal heat and traffic I have no issues to report. This is reasonably priced and seems like a quality product. I would purchase from them again.
