I did not install this piece, but it took my auto guy all day, and as other people have mentioned, the button is in reverse down is up, up is down

  2. Maui Riss

Fit my car perfectly with no problems.

I needed a regulator for one of my Camrys and a power module for the other. The supplied both cars with what they6 needed. It definitely is lighter and flimsier than OEM but at his price for 20 year cars who cares. both cars windows work now.

I bought this for my dads 99 Camry… –insert recall joke here–😊. Over all it was what we needed to get his window up and running… punny 🤣. Anyways… This would do the trick if your window is on a car that is not going to be kept or you really dont care about quality in a build.

Compared to the OEM scissor lift section this one is hands down cheap stamped, fast & loose, “here ya go it’ll work” metal. On the OEM crank there are ‘safety’ catches built into the body of the crank. These are there to not only make installation simpler but to also catch the window should the motor fail. This product has NONE.
This product has a “floating” rail that is meant part of the scissor section that on the OEM is one solid riveted together piece…. another ding for it. Lastly where the scissor section comes together at the joint it is not riveted. It is what’s known was a smash nut joint. Meaning they take a rivet and X it under a press flaring out the 4 parts to hold two pieces together. This would be fine on anything else except a joint that is meant to rotate inside itself. Over time this is a point of failure and I dont mean in a few years fail. its metal on metal with only grease to counteract it.

In the end we ended up just using the really nice and very strong motor that came attached… after filing the OEM hole about 1/8 in to the left so that the bolts would line up… but it works great now.

In the end the company is not to blame. They make a decent product that is meant as a NON OEM replacement. It may last a few years and all will be well. BUT… if your scissor crank section is NOT broken just replace the motor.👍

One piece that was suppose to be attached was totaly separate and caused it not to fit.

  6. Terry hale

    Perfect fit easy to install

The only thing that was good with this regulator assembly was the motor, but even that had an issue. I brought this to replace a failing regulator on the 2000 Camry since it was showing signs of going out (weak lift, odd noises, ect.) At first it seemed alright out of the box, but 10 minute in during installation and I’m seeing all sorts of issues. The Upper slide track is separate from where it joins with the regulator frame. The OE unit I pulled has that section joined as one piece for better strength and stability. The other issue is that the framework of the regulator assembly is “too straight”, meaning its forcing the glass out of track as it lifts up and to hold the window while its going up as someone drives isn’t ideal at all. Also to point out the issue with stability and the framework, the swirly clock spring thing that the regulator operates with seemed very…. weak. The elevation movement of the regulator was really floppy. The OE had a stronger spring that can take the pressure and had proper resistance. Last, the motor itself. I had to take that off and swap it with the old regulator since I’m very short on time preparing this car for a trip. But after installing the motor and connecting it, it was operating completely backwards from what it was supposed to do so I had to cut the connector part of the harness off and connect the old harness from the OE motor to it for the fix. It was quite a mess and frustrating one. At least the window is working more functional now, but I hope the OE regulator can last a while longer…

Saved me a bundle. Toyota dealer wanted 6 times as much plus tax. Bought it and took it to a car window installer and ended up paying for the entire thing half of what it would have cost me to buy the unit alone from the dealer.
