the seller does not advertise this fits a ford 8n tractor, but i ordered it because the part number is advertised by other sites as fitting the ford 8n, so this is not a complaint about the seller, it’s a fine product for the money and works well, just not for the applicatin i was looking for ———- for anyone cross-referencing part numbers, this DOES NOT FIT (not even close) the ford 8n tractor—- wrong depth (about 1 1/2″ too tall for tank) & wrong thread configuration (8N tractor has metal gas tank with metal gas cap and NO threads, it has two tabs located on the inside of the fill hole, much like a standard car radiator cap). It appears to be a good cap for the money, and for the right tank (I’m guessing any plastic tank, with threads on the outside of the tank fill hole).

I ordered a Stens 125-120 fuel cap. The cap fits fine, however during the first use the lawn mower cut out 4-5 times .. stalled out completely and back fired. Just four days prior, with the old cap – no problems. Comparing the old cap to the new one I see a diffence in the lenses. The old lense has an air hole and the new one has a spot where a hole should be – but it’s not a hole. The cap needs a hole for pressure release and to avoid my cutting out problem. Fuel cap vent hole plugged – The fuel cap vent and air holes can get clogged, this prevents air from entering the tank and reduces the pressure inside the tank, reducing the flow of gas to the engine. Make sure the vent is open and the screens are free of debris. Also, make sure the cap seals properly and water has not entered the tank, if so, drain the tank completely and fill with fresh fuel.
After drilling a small hole in the new cap, I again used it on my next lawn cutting – no problems at all.
When I recv’d my new cap (second one)and found it too defective – OBTW Amazon customer service did a great job and understanding the problem and resending me a new cap – unfortunately, it too was defective.
Good price if you don’t mind drilling a small hole to make it work.

the only thing when screwed .the reading are upside down. is there a way rotate?

Fits and functions as you might expect, but the float blade’s twist goes all the way to the top of the float travel to indicate max full. If you are wanting a direct replacement for the John Deere 300 series mower, this will fit and function as a gauge, but it is not accurate as a replacement; the original has blade twist only going about 3/4 of the way up. Other mowers may or may not have a neck length that the cap gauge will not account for. Low and high float comparisons in photo, JD 300 is on left, this product on right.
Nevertheless: The cap does fit well, the display is clear, and all I need to do is mark on the new cap where “Full” actually is, about 2/3 of full rotation on cap. Last image shows a currently empty tank on a John Deere 318 with my simple marking of a line and an “F” for “Full.”

This gauge is actually accurate in my JD 322.
I had purchased one here on amazon a year ago from a different seller but it was not accurate.

I put it on a JD 316. I am giving this cap high marks because the inherent flaws are built into the JD 316 tank and nothing to do with the cap. I read another review stating it dramatically lowers the reading in 10 minutes. My fuel tank has a 3 or 4 inch filler neck. You have to fill the neck to get a “full” reading on the cap. Of course the neck empties in about 10 minutes and says you are only 3/4 full, but this issue is because of the tank filler neck and not because of the cap. I filled my tank to the bottom of the filler neck and marked the reading with nail polish, this is my new “full” level. I am more concerned with 1/2 tank readings and 1/4 tank readings so that I don’t run empty.
