Had the usual problem with these particular Briggs’ where the head gasket blows between the cylinder and push rod cavity then begins smoking and burning oil. Got this head gasket in and we seem to be in good shape. Will report back in the event of early failure but Stens is usually a trustworthy aftermarket brand for outdoor power equipment similar to Rotary and Oregon. So don’t expect it to be an issue.

My B&S 18.5 hp Intek engine was using lots of oil, and was smoking badly. Oil was leaking between the cylinder and the OHV valves, on the compression stroke, due to gasket failure. This fixed the issue. This is a lower cost replacement over the B&S O.E.M. part.
