I have a six cylinder petrol Toyota Landcruiser it was using over 1litre of water after traveling 1 kilometre .
I put two bottles in the radiator followed the instructions I drove up the highway for about 20 minutes then let it sit overnight .
The next morning I topped the radiator up and went for a spin and it didn’t use any water .
That was six weeks ago and its still fine.

This product is simple to use, I recommend reading the instructions multiple times if you have more than simple water in oil condition, there are variables to each situation and the details matter. They recommend running this product with no antifreeze in the cooling system, just water. Flushing all the antifreeze out is the most difficult part of the job. The cost is considerably more than other head gasket repairs in a bottle but I was willing to risk the cash as I was confident this would not cause undesirable consequences like the other could. I am talking about clogging water passages or heater core which would only exacerbate the issues. Steal Seal does not contain any metals or material that will clog passages. Their is a money back guarantee and I called after my treatment seemed to not work and they did quickly offer money back or a complimentary second treatment, so no issues with customer service there. I did ask them some pretty detailed questions because I wanted to understand how the product works. I got answers although that may have been accurate but I am not 100% sure.
I was told the product is only effective during the first heat cycle. That may or may not be true and I am leaning towards it probably is At any rate, I did not get a great deal of confidence on the technical part of the conversation but if you are concerned if they will provide money back I believe they will. I did a lot of reading on this product before deciding to try it and I am glad I did, it provided a lot of reference to consider. I will describe my situation in case it provides insight to anyone considering this product.
I have had symptoms of a blown head gasket in a 2004 4Runner V6 for a long time. My symptoms were the coolant reservoir becoming over filled. When the vehicle was hot and running you could see air bubbles coming out of the overflow reservoir hose into the reservoir coolant. Occasionally, I would get check engine light for misfire on cylinder 6 (and more recently cylinder 2 as well) at startup but it would clear itself in short order. Lately, the vehicle had been starting rough, especially after a long drive and cool down. Presumably the rough start was due to the lack of combustion in the cylinder due to water that drained into it and/or lack of compression due to leaky head gasket that vastly improved when the engine began to heat up and expand. I never had any white steam coming from the tail pipe other than the standard moisture burn off in the exhaust system that any vehicle will exhibit on cold startup especially on cold days. I have not had any water in the oil.
There are specific additional instructions to follow if you have back pressure in the cooling system like I did. The treatment calls for removal of spark plug of the suspect cylinder and then run up to temp and for an additional 30 minutes at high idle. I did not compression test my cylinders and frankly all three spark plugs on bank 2 of my engine looked pretty suspect for water intrusion. Given this, I was not too confident but I know cyl 6 was the initial issue and likely the worst so I pulled it and left the radiator cap off and ran the treatment. I then let the car cool down, replaced the spark plug and let the car sit over night. The next morning I fired it up and still had bubbles coming into reservoir. I then went for a drive on the highway for about 8 miles. Back at home still bubbles. I figured the treatment did not succeed. I figured my engine was no better or worse off after the treatment. Fast forward almost two weeks and I have had no rough starts and the radiator is staying completely full, reservoir is maintaining a stable level once cooled down (normal) and I am not seeing bubbles in the reservoir any longer. I think it worked!!! I am thinking the bubbles I saw the first couple of days may have been the system purging air as would be normal after any coolant change. OR the product continued to work over a few heat cycles to ultimately cure my issue.
The weather has been cool since I did this treatment so the cooling system is definitely not being taxed heavily. I will try to remember to update this in a few months once the weather is hot to confirm if it is still holding up.

Steel Seal has been a great customer experience for me. My old vehicle blew a head gasket in the middle of 2021. Other head gasket repair products that I tried clogged the radiator and heater core and did not fully fix the blown gasket. I read reviews on Steel Seal and researched the technology, finding it is a unique product that builds a solid gasket under pressure and heat, vs the other products that rely on fibers to fill the gaps.
I had to flush my coolant system to get the old product out plus clean out the radiator and heater core which took a while. Adding Steel Seal and running the engine at high RPM sealed the head gasket leak within a couple of minutes of the engine warming up and the vehicle ran great through the recommended treatment period. The treatment held for about 8 months, even passing a smog check with better readings than the previous check.
Unfortunately the fix did not hold and the same cylinder started misfiring. I suspect some of the original fix may still have been in place and gave way, and not enough Steel Seal remained from the first treatment to seal the gap. Steel Seal quickly sent a replacement treatment under its warranty and within minutes the fix was restored. The vehicle has been running great again for several weeks with no further issues.
I plan to hang onto the vehicle for another year or two so this was the ideal fix for my situation vs going through the effort and cost of replacing the head gaskets. Thank you to the Steel Seal team for creating and backing an innovative product that quickly solved this issue!

I followed the directions of a prominent YouTuber mechanic and it worked. I drove it as recommended with no leaks of coolant in to the oil. Then I let the car sit for a week until I could get it registered again. When I started it up after a week it ran perfectly for about 30 minutes. That’s when it failed and over heated again and let coolant into the oil again. The YouTuber said it may or may not work and he was right.

Unfortunately this product did not work for me (2017 KIA Sorento) however company was true to their promise and promptly offered another application or refund. Since the product did not seem to have any positive effect I chose the refunded which was granted almost immediately. Three stars ate for service and integrity!

I gave this product the optimal conditions for it. To work and it failed miserably. If anything it made the problem worse!! Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your money.

I have a 2007 Honda Pilot that blew the head in October of 2022. At the time it had right around 175k miles and my mechanic said it isn’t worth investing in. I had not used Steel Seal before and thought these products were all the same so I purchased the blue stuff and it failed within 2 weeks. A friend said to try SS but to make sure to follow the instructions which I did. I will mention the first day I drove it with SS in the system it didn’t seem to make a difference, but I continued the process of running the vehicle for 30 minutes as instructed every day for 5 days (after the 3rd day I noticed quite an improvement). I left town for the weekend and then took the Honda out when I returned and it ran like a champ. No more sputtering, no error codes and no trouble. This is my commuter car that I drive to work every day (30 minutes each way). I think it runs better now than before I blew the head! I’m a believer in this stuff. It’s been a little over a year and 16,000 miles and is running great. I hope to make an update in another 12 months with equally good news.
