Even with key this cap is hard to get off! Works great just a trick to remove to put gas in.

I bought this because my old gas cap didn’t lock and u could just open the fuel door. So I bought this and it works can’t open with out key. The only down side is the new gas cap leaks. So it makes a check engine light come on. How do I know it leaking you ask I work at a mechanic shop and we did a smoke test to find a leak and the only place it was leaking was the gas cap

Cap lasted about 3 fill ups and then the key would no longer unlock the cap.

With a tankful of gas costing upwards of $60 (or $100-$200 if you have a big motorcoach etc), this gas cap pays for itself if it prevents one thief from stealing gas from you. From a mischievious standpoint it also protects your vehicle from someone putting something nasty in your gas tank.
I found this product to be a perfect almost OEM replacement item. I found that I could reuse the plastic ring that kept my original gas cap tethered to my car – so the product looks like something straight out of the factory.
It comes with two keys, which I just attached to each of my key rings.
Overall, a great product, a simple invesment.
On Amazon, I really enjoyed the make/model/year product finder that guided me to the right part – very helpful (thanks Amazon).

This works really good on my Ford Taurus. So far I have not had already steal my gas. That’s what I bought it for. It is a little difficult to get off of my car. You would have somebody teach me how to get it off. I didn’t realize that we talk how to get the gas cap off.
