Perfect fit – wasn’t sure if it would work on my 1995 diesel motorhome, but it did. Needed a replacement after losing the old cap, but this one turned out to be a big upgrade in having the green color/DIESEL label for extra insurance against pumping gas by mistake, and the lock mechanism works great so far. Now I will worry less about my 85 gallons of diesel being stolen or contaminated. If you are wondering about fitment, I know this fits various pickup trucks (can’t say specifically) but my application is a 1995 National RV Class A (diesel pusher). The chassis is ’94 Oshkosh, (later merged into Freightliner), and it has many Ford components. The tank filler neck on it is wider than pickup trucks (I can fill up with the big-rig pumps, unlike most pickups) so I was concerned this would not work, but the opening surface and threads seem to be a perfect fit.

Been using this one for a while now. It is difficult to get the locking mechanism to work. Many times I cannot get the cap to ratchet down in the lock position. Not really sure what is up with this thing but I am afraid at some point it might lock down and I will not be able to open it. Good idea to have one but need one more reliable and easier to use.

Purchased this for my 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali HD. The lock works great. Seal is a little squeeky the first few times its turned down, but that noise has since gone away. To set the lock, turn the key and remove it from the cap. Then you turn it two clicks. Then the top will spin free endlessly. To unlock, turn the key, leave the key in the cap and turn to unlock. It was pretty simple. By no means indestructable if someone wants to steal your diesel, but does the job protecting my $150 investment to an extent. The trick is to deter the thief as much as possible & make it hard on them. That’s what counts.

So it doesnt say fits your vehicle (2500 HD) on amazon so i was concerned. Other caps you have to cut the seal off so as to not cause a suction to build in the tank but not this one. No issues with this cap. On third tank after getting it. Still no issues.

2015 Jetta TDI perfect fit. Well made. I bought this to help avoid fuel confusion or mistakes as we have both gas and diesel vehicles. The Jetta came with a black cap that stated “Diesel” on it but could easily be over looked. This bright green cap catches your attention right off the bat and then you have to use a key to unlock it, an added layer of “oh yeah not my gas car”. Affordable way to help prevent expensive repairs.
Not to mention the added security to your tank.

I have a 1990 ford E-350 XL and needed to replace the cap that I lost the keys to. Yes there is a way to break the cap and remove the old one.This one works just like the old one. The key is only used to remove the cap and then pulled out to replace and lock it in place.The color coding, Green for diesel, is nice feature. for stations that have attendants.

It really requires some serious tightening to get it to ratchet to auto-lock. Once it locks it’s easy to unlock, remove the key and unscrew. If it didn’t require so much force to make it lock and came with instructions it’d be 5 stars.
Fits my TDI Jetta Sportwagen perfectly but the tether doesn’t fit.

When I tried the cap I just screwed it on and tried to lock it by inserting the key and turning. I tried it and it screwed right out. I tried it a few times with the same result. There were no instructions in the box but on the box it said to go to the web site for instructions. I went to the web site and it said to screw the cap on and turn it until it clicks three times.
I tried it and when I went to remove it the cap just spun free and I couldn’t get it off no matter how I tried. I inserted the key and turned it 1/4 turn and screwed the cap right off.
It may require cleaning and lubrication from time to time because some dust gets up into the filler area.
