I purchased this for a Ford Tractor I own after going to the “Big Three” AutoParts suppliers looking for one. This is the exact same unit they wanted $45.00 for, and would have to wait three days to get shipped in!
Amazon had it for half the price and it was delivered to my house the next day.
As Far as the quality, ANY brand of ignition coil has the potential of being bad out of the box. Expectations weren’t high for this ones functionality for that reason…But it was out of the box plenty hot! (twitchy burnt finger proves it)
Though I haven’t done it as of yet, I will be ordering another in the near future to have on hand as a spare. For the price, I may get two!

Hi,
My Ford 8N wasn’t running right, tried several things, decided to put a new ignition coil on, the only question about this coil was the primary resistance, measured it 3.3 ohms, good for 12 volt without a resistor. Took off my old IC14SB that I put on 15 years ago. Put it on, started it up, I could tell it was now running right, warmed it up, did some firewood hauling, took a spin around, runs great! It had a small dent at the base of the coil, See attached picture. Decided to try it, it’s alright…

Bought two of these to power a motorcycle twin cylinder with separate coils. Tested within 0.1 ohms of each other right out of the box, and work perfectly well without an external resistor, just as advertised. Great value for the money.

The OEM Kohler version of this coil is $70, and not being entirely sure this was my problem, investing $11 to find out was very enticing. I am restoring a Cub Cadet 147 and have been chasing my tail for weeks between the carb, points, and valve gap setting. NOTHING would make this newly rebuilt K321 run right. It had spark so I hadn’t even given it a second look. Big mistake. My problem ended up simply being a weak spark from the ancient original coil.
This thing runs perfectly now thanks to this new coil. It looks very high quality, and has a nice grey finish. I am very impressed and will be buying a back up and will still be under $25! Will revisit this review if it has a premature failure.
