The u joint fit perfectly

These u-joints are just what is needed to use a Ford 9″ rear end in a non Ford car. The standard differential yoke side has the 1 1/8″ caps (sometime called a 1310 Big Cap) while the driveshaft side had the standard 1310 1 1/16″ caps.

This 57493X is the correct universal joint for the 60s and 70s Ford 8 inch rear universal joint for a mustang Maverick and some Torino‘s with this 8 inch rear end. The 1310 universal joint that is listed is for some universal joint for the rear joint of these Fords. Double check your yoke measurement before you buy the universal joint, this universal joint has a 1.125” cap for this yoke.

I will edit this review once part is installed. The pictures shown are exactly how I received product when I cut open the bag. Box was not just damaged but obviously had been previously opened. That in of itself doesn’t bother me. It’s that this could be a part someone tried to install and returned. Bearings are sensitive to cleanliness and abuse. It also had no inner packaging. Maybe spicer packages this way but I’ve never seen a u joint boxed without a protective covering. It looks ok so I’ll edit review to add or subtract stars after closer inspection and installation.
