I first purchased Silblades 3 years ago after getting tired of replacing my wiper blades every 4-6 months because of streaking and chattering. That pair has just started to wear out (after 3 years!), leaving a few streaks on the windshield when raining. Silblades really do last years instead of months, as their disclaimer states. The performance is striking compared to common Anco or even Bosch wiper blades: you get a crystal clear wipe on your windshield, even in heavy rain or snow. The installation is simple for most applications and adapters are included for your type of wiper.

I opted for the hybrid silicone blades this time because the wiper is based on Japanese blades that sculpt to the windshield and grip the windshield even better than the original Silblade. The hybrid silicone blade is NOT just for Japanese cars, my Silblade hybrids are currently on a 2004 Ford Freestar and work wonderfully.

Though the upfront cost is more expensive these wipers can pay for themselves in a year, assuming you replace your cheaper wipers every 6 months. If you are thinking about better wiper blades, purchase a pair of Silblades and experience a clearer windshield. Your severe weather vision will thank you.

Some details to start: three sets of Silblades on three vehicles – ’99 Sienna, ’03 Corolla, ’05 Prius; all installed at same time. The Sienna and Prius are daily use vehicles – to & from work (~20 mi. for the Sienna; ~50 mi. for the Prius); the Corolla typically sat at the university, used most on weekends). Also, the Prius had a new windshield (“this vehicle not responsible for objects thrown from road”, even if it came off my poorly covered load, which you can’t prove).

The Silblades started off quite impressive, although, common to all vehicles, there was the not infrequent “squeak” at the end of the return wipe. The blades allegedly put a “coating” on the glass … given that some forms of silicone are lubricants, what’s with the squeak? In the same vein, then there was the not infrequent judder (stick and release) on the upswing. [still can’t figure out what the coating is supposed to do, although water-drop spots certainly seemed more difficult to remove]. Squeak and judder were annoying but not so frequent that these offset the initial decent wiping action. Unfortunately, the blades on the Corolla where streaking to the point of replacement within 5 months; the Prius, with its new windshield, within 6 months. The Sienna has fared the “best” (replacement after 7 months), likely due to religious applications of RainX.

In summary, these blades certainly did not “last years not months”, and not worth the price. A “buy one, get one free” could make them more attractive, price-wise, but they still did not live up to the hype.

I bought this one and the 26 inch one for the driver’s side. For some odd reason the adapter was broke so I sent it back. I had my replacement in a couple days! The build is solid and the only challenge was figuring out how to install on my Volvo XC90. The instructions could be a little better so that is the only reason for taking off a star but the product itself is very well built. Super smooth and conforms to the wind shield better than the top rated rubber version I had on there. Very happy.

So…I live is Seattle and the long, intermittent rainy weather here is a test for wiper blades. I installed these on my bmw with automatic rain sensors over a year ago. Normally, I’d go through wiper blades in about 2-3 months…I get annoyed when streaks start to show up, so I’d replace whenever that happed. After over a year of use, there are no signs of wear and the coating that is left on the windshield really does repel water and grime.

I rarely write reviews for products, but I kept on being amazed by these blades and wanted share. By far the best wiper blade I’ve ever used. I plan to use them from here on out and would highly recommend.

I bought these over 5 years ago. I went from replacing once or twice a year to these lasting 5 years and still going strong . I will always use these blades.

I have an Audi Q7 and this wiper replaced old and loud Bosch that came stock on the car.
I had some complains about the original Bosch wiper, mainly because how loud it will get if the windshield wasn’t fully wet. Like when you use washer fluid to clean the window from mud and dirt. Also the original Bosch had a very short life span, and after just 2-3 months it will start getting hard and leave streaks on the windows when used.

I can’t tell yet if this one will have longer life span like they advertise, but it is for sure quiet like a whisper.
Seems to me that the materials it is made of will make it live to the promise of “Years not months” motto. Time will tell.

For the price it is a very good looking and (so far) performing replacement!

They cleaned well-for exactly a year. Right wiper is ripped 4 inches so far. Junk. Scam. Ripoff. Avoid! Why buy Silicone for $$$$$ when a regular wiper will do the same.

    Item works perfectly

I love these wiper blades my old SilBlade wipers lasted me 5 years till it rusted out the pin that hold the clips for the J-hook. SilBlade made them so good that the metal frames break down before the blade does. The blades that fell apart was on my Scion was SilBlade WB116S and WB124S through rain, snow, dirt, and dead bug guts and juice they did a awesome job cleaning the windshield. I replaced them with SilBlade UB124, UB116, and RB112-A for my Scion.
Since i was ordering them for my Scion I went ahead and order 2 more sets for my other cars. The other sets that i order were SilBlade UB124, UB116, and RB114-B for my Subaru and SilBlade FB120,FB120 for my Chevy S10.
I do NOT recommend the FB120’s on the Chevy S10 because the blade on the passenger side don’t sit flush and they both skip while wiping leaving some areas clean and some wet areas. My 3 year old WB120’s work fine on the Chevy S10 good thing i didn’t trash them.
