The sierra fuel pump was identical to the Carter that was original. Fit was perfect and the boat started with way less cranking as the old fuel pump. I opted for the sierra over a mercury pump because the mercury was 100$ more and sierra is a trusted name. But I must say I really don’t see any difference between a fuel pump that claims it’s made for a marine engine over a pump for an automotive engine. In my opinion..a quality pump from an auto parts store…not a cheep Chinese pump would be just fine. Add marine …add 100$…if it says mercury…add 200$. At 170$ the sierra was a good quality compromise. Like I said…so far so good…ask me Again in 10 years.

Was shipped and packaged well. Looked like good quality. However, at 8 hours of engine run time. the diaphragm leaked fuel into the actuator lever and caused bearing failure. Last fuel pump was 20 years of service before failure.

Product installed easily and LOOKED like high quality. Ended up getting a defective product and customer service told me I need to contact the manufacturer. They do not stand behind the product they sell nor is customer service important for this company. I will be looking elsewhere for a replacement part.
