The threaded end of cable was oversized and nearly impossible to thread into the transom case.

i’d like to leave a detailed review but this crap cable has cost me two days. DON”T buy this. The trunion was too large in diameter and won’t fit your Cobra shift bracket on the engine side. The cable housing and core cable are the correct length but the machining is off on the brass parts of the red housing, and in my case I was not able to adjust the travel from forward gear to reverse gear to the required 2.5″ (only 1.875″) of cable pull. very frustrating. hopefully this will save you a day or two of messing with your outdrive and climbing in and out of your boat engine bay.

Cable after 1 month use (4 times on the lake) snapped and left the boat in reverse. The cable overall is made with cheap quality parts. When installing the cable I noticed the ends of the threaded adjustable portion not machined correctly and made of soft, poor quality metal that bends very easy.
NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER –
The inner cable length was too short for my 19986 OMC Cobra drive (non king cobra). There was not enough inner cable to secure on the engine end if you only had it two or three threads on the outdrive end. I would not buy again.

The length of the cable was fine. The trunnion nut didn’t fit on my 1990 4.3 omc cobra. I’m very disappointed I get the cable installed and the nut won’t fit in the slot and causing the system not to work properly. I would not recommend buying this product to anybody.

Had to use a 6mm×1.5 thread tap to get it to work. Neither of the ends of the cable match OMC.

I installed this on a freshly rebuilt outdrive adjusted it correctly to specs with professional tools not the cheap ones provided. The first time out bafter the 2nd shift from forward to reverse it got stuck in forward gear. I took it apart found where the cable was crimped it broke and was jammed up! Do not buy unless you want to be stranded on the water!!!
