I thought this would be the answer. They make specific designs for each vehicle, but how could you not find a way to keep from blocking the air conditioner to the driver? This is no better than a vent clip.

Should have recorded the unboxing, but received a USED item as seen in the first picture, 2 of the mounting screw holes were stripped out, had to use a larger screw to attach the ball mount to the proclip. Not a bad inconvenience as I have extra small screws on hand. On the plus side, I received the phone mount in the same package (which was not the original order). I originally ordered JUST the clip… so added bonus I guess. The phone mount is really flimsy, not a heavy duty holder, so I put that off to the side for an extra/back up if needed. I ordered a 25mm adjustment clamp, and a heavy duty phone holder, which I have had really good luck with.
When installing the clip, make sure the left side of the clip lip is fully UNDER the dash facing and it holds pretty tight, still allows movement of the vent, and phone doesn’t fully block the vent air flow either.

Fits great on the dash without blocking vents.
I wish it was a little sturdier and easier to release the phone but it’s adequate and working well.

This attachment in combination with the cradle mount is just a bad design with only one option to mount it behind the steering wheel. In combination with the cradle attachment you’ll have barely an inch clearance between it and the steering wheel. Overpriced… I mean ..way overpriced and I’m pretty sure the whole is mount is just plastic and no metal.

The Pilot has nowhere to mount on the dash, luckily someone makes this device and it makes a great location to use any mount you wish. It’s a very simple piece of plastic which doesn’t look like it should be so expensive, but I can’t make anything better so I bought it and do recommend it.

Bought the Honda Ridgeline version on Jan 18th. Works perfect for my iphone 15 pro!
Ridiculously easy to install, especially after watching the video – I had to make sure. I didn’t use the sticky on base mount and just left it in place.
$40 for just the plastic mounting base is excessive IMO, even considering that they had to do significant R&D on each car. On the other hand, had I done this when I bought my truck in 2020, I would have saved a minimum of at least $100 in R&D myself (try this, try that etc.)
Then they want another $30-$60 for the actual phone holder that attaches to the mounting base. Nichts on that. I bought a Smolink Alloy Universal 360°Pro Adjustable Magnetic Folding Phone Mount for $8 and attached it with the accompanying adhesive strip. It has worked perfect for me so far.
Of Course, being in greater Phoenix, which is why anything adhesive or suction doesn’t work, I have yet to verify that the adhesive sticky will hold up in the heat. Doesn’t really matter, since I have other stuff that I know will work for certain. The main problem I ran into previously is trying to use adhesive or suction to mount anything to the dash or glass. It never works for long. However, getting a phone holder to adhere to the flat ABS plastic base mount is no big deal and one could use screws if needed for heavier things like ipads.
I highly recommend getting one of these car-specific base mounts – if it attaches where you like, and skipping the trial and error frustration, which can be very dangerous when having to deal with a loose or dropped phone in a moving car.
Again, wished I had done this back in 2020.

I used this, along with an aluminum phone holder, to mount my cell phone behind the steering wheel on my Ridgeline. The location isn’t ideal (a little behind the steering wheel above the wiper stalk), but I don’t know where else you could mount it where you don’t have to drill a hole in your dash. At least with this device, you can mount your phone.
A couple of notes — I removed the double-sided sticky tape — don’t really see what purpose it was serving, and two — I didn’t use the phone mount that goes with this system — I got a much heavier duty one that sits very flush. I can see that if the phone was away from the dash any more, it could interfere with steering.

Love not having the vents blocked and not having my phone holder fall off the dash
