This 10A charger is so very simple to use, simply hook up the clips to the battery plug it in to power and push the start button. The charger does everything else, even if you have the clips hooked up on the battery the wrong way it won’t work/spark or ruin anything. I have used this on my riding lawn mower battery, tried it on both vehicles batteries and even two 6v batteries in line on a golf cart. This charger worked on all the batteries flawlessly, and then if you leave it hooked up overnight it keeps the battery topped off and fully charged. The size is very nice, easy to store and only weighs a pound or so. This is a great charger that is very user friendly and when needed should do the job and not break the bank. Hope this helps!

The technical description does not state that the unit is 120v and comes with an American plug.
It may work ok in the UK but I’m not taking the risk and returning it.

This is a replacement of same brand and features which is 10 years old. This new model is performing exactly as it should. Easy, simple no extra features. It charges 12V batteries.

I thought car battery recharger had to be complicated, heavy, and difficult to use. I was wrong. This device is simple to use, very lightweight, totally automatic, and has a metal case which wont break like plastic does. It brought my completely dead battery back to life in just a few hours time. It works silently without any fan noise to betray its existence. Simple to use means less to go wrong and less expensive too. If you are confused about what battery charger to try, like I was, try this one first. I think you will be very happy as well. You can’t beat something that is inexpensive, simple to use, and works like a charm. Heartily recommend this recharger which is also made by a long respected name in automobile tools.

Read the owners manually thoroughly before trying to charge a battery (12v only). Charger is fully automatic. It is programmed to perform a specified sequence of functions. LEDs indicate each specific functions. See the manual p. 4; Item 10 Control Panel. A Lit LED shows current status. Example: The power LED (green) lit: The charger is connected to an AC outlet . Start/Stop Button: Press to immediately begin charging a properly connected battery or charging will start automatically in about 10 minutes if not pressed. Charging status is shown by the lit LED. Green LED Lit: Battery fully charged and in maintain mode. Press Start/Stop to stop charging. Follow instruction sequence for disconnecting charger. One evening I pulled into garage turned off headlights but was listening to radio, I turned radio off but failed to turn off the ignition (dumb me)! By morning the battery sufficiently discharged that nothing worked.
I had not replaced an old charger that had died years ago. So what to do? Amazon of course. After looking at many options the Schumacher 12v 10A charger 2A maintainer model stood out to me and Amazon offered free over-night delivery by 8:00 AM the next day. The charger arrived on time! I unpacked the charger and immediately was surprised at its compact size and weight. I read the manual, followed the instructions and let the automated functions do the rest. The estimated charging times listed on page 5 of the manual showed a 3 to 7 hours charging time. My battery was fully charge in about 5 hours. I’m a 5-star satisfied customer and highly recommend this model. If you need a 6v/12v charger I recommend you search to see if Schumacher makes one.

Don’t waste your money on smaller wattage chargers, I did and finally ordered this one. I love this charger and maintainer I use it on my 1998 Z3 BMW and it keeps the battery charged and automatically goes into maintain trickle charge. No need to disconnect it after it charges the batter, if the charge on the battery dropsthis charger automatically switches to maintain trickle charge.
