It does the trick. I’ve charge lithium ion and SLA batteries and it just works. I’ve had it for a while and it keeps on going. So far I have no complaints at all. It’s not super fast, but it does charge just as fast as it says on the tin and that’s fast enough for me. I don’t like to abuse my batteries.

I have been using this motorcycle battery charger for a little more than a month now and I must say it has been performing very well. It is very versatile in the way that it can be used on different types of batteries from lead acid to the iron lithium batteries. The display is easy to read and gives an accurate depiction of the current voltage as it charges. And you can also check the voltage of the battery as long as the unit is not plugged into the AC wall socket. Very good size, and does not get very warm at all while charging which is a plus. I would buy this unit again or as a gift for someone that needed a trickle charger or a normal battery charger. It also comes with a couple of different plug types so you can attach a trickle charge connection to your motorcycle battery for quick and easy plug-in when you’re done riding.

I bought this to replace an earlier 5 A charger for just LiFePO4 batteries that I use for camping with portable solar panels, that only lasted for about 5 weeks before it died, and that cost only $5 less than this one. The seller did not provide a refund, but a replacement unit which I won’t be using again. I had requested a full refund. No voltage or % charge readout on that earlier one – just a red and green led to monitor the charging process. I thought I could get by with a bare minimum, cheap charger, but it let me down. It’s useful to have a charger in addition to solar panels for recharging the LFP battery – at night, for example, at home, before you leave to go camping.
This 6 A Sailnovo charger looked to be the best available replacement/upgrade to that earlier one for the cost, and in addition, it charges both 6 V and 12 V lead acid batteries as well as 12 V LiFePO4. I connected it to my 50 Ah LiFePO4 battery via the SAE connector (the LFP battery has attached ring terminals with 15 A fuse to SAE connector in addition to the connector to the solar panel charge controller and thicker cables to a 500 W inverter for powering the various 120 V camping utensils for cooking, cooling etc), and the charger automatically selected the LFP option on the display screen and 13.3 V – no need to press the Mode button to select the battery type. I then plugged the charger into 120 V outlet and the state of charge of the LFP battery was displayed during charging – between 3 and 4 out of 5 bars (60 – 80 % charged) – so that told me the earlier charger had crapped out even before completing the previous charge attempt.
The voltage display on the Sailnovo is helpful to get a sense of battery health, along with the approximate % of the battery charge state. I’d recommend spending the extra money to get a charger that provides both a voltage reading and a state of charge on the display – many chargers do not, and cost more than this one.
After about 30 minutes it was showing 4 – 5 bars and 13.8 V, so the charging was working as expected. About an hour later it was putting out 13.9 V. After about 2.5 hours it was showing 5 bars on the display and ‘FUL’. I unplugged the charger from the 120 V supply, and the display read 13.5 V. I then disconnected the SAE to the LFP battery. Job completed with no fuss and with the bonus of useful information of the charging process – I like to keep an eye on this stuff while it’s on-going, for my own peace of mind.
The unit seems quite robust and solid, very easy to use, and for $40, great value for money. I just hope it lasts for a few years rather than a few weeks. In the instructions, it says you can also use it for a 12 V battery maintainer for various vehicles and for battery reconditioning, as well as a steady 12 V 6 A supply – all selectable via the Mode function button.
Most of the other chargers of 6 A or higher current had only clamps available for connecting to the battery. I wanted one with the SAE connector like many 12 V battery maintainers have (and this one comes with well-insulated battery clamps and ring connectors with 15 A fuse to SAE connectors). For the money and versatility, highly recommended. I cannot assess longevity and reliability at this point, but the unit feels solid and reliable.
If you’re also shopping for various camping cooking and refrigeration aids and want to move away from using gas for those, it’s an interesting exercise to see if you can get by with just a 100 W portable solar panel and solar charge control unit, 50 Ah LFP battery, a 500 W inverter and all the plug-in devices using either 12 V (from solar charge control unit for compressor fridge) or 120 V via the inverter (for cooking, etc) and rated at 500 W maximum or preferably less. You may wish/need to include a battery charger as part of this set-up – I cannot rely on just solar panels to recharge the LFP battery on a cloudy day – back-up options needed. You can always scale up if you need more power and add a larger inverter, but that’s added space, extra weight and extra cost. I set a self-imposed limit of everything under 500 Watts. For that scale of operation, this 6 A charger is the ideal size, and Sailnovo also offer 4 A and 10 A versions – so the 10 A charger might be preferable for a larger set-up and/or 100, 150, 200 Ah LFP battery and/or 200, 300 Watt portable solar panels, 1000 W inverter, etc. 4 A would work well with batteries less than 50 Ah capacity.

Bought this to maintain our Jeep battery over winter. The battery was depleted when I connected the charger. Unfortunately, after a few hours the charger reported the battery as bad. I tried several other modes to attempt to restore the battery but was unsuccessful.
I pulled the battery and attempted to get it replaced. The auto store did not have a comparable battery and ordered from another store. When I returned the next day, they informed me my original battery had taken a full charge with their charger.
I brought the original battery back home and connected to this charger. It is now maintaining the charge and no longer throws an error. I guess this will not replace my older charger but should be fine for overwinter use.

It works and charges and easy to use and the price is well worth it.

Worked great to top off my car battery in cold weather conditions – much easier starting with a fully charged battery. I do a lot of in-town driving, where the battery doesn’t really get a chance to recharge fully during the short trips. Putting this charger on my battery every few days helps me top off the charge and makes cold weather starting much easier.
