I wish ingredients were listed SOMEWHERE, super frustrating I don’t know what is in this and if I want my pets exposed to this. There’s no smell and the lid isn’t very tight so I worry it might dry out, so I tossed in a plastic bag. But it seems to clean well, getting dirt and revitalizing it. Then some conditioner to restore moisture and a protectant for water, and voila!

This container of saddle soap is shallow and larger. This makes for excellent usability. It sits flat and it’s easy to access from the top. There is plenty of surface area to scoop. The saddle soap works very well. I love that you can use it on anything from leather shoes to a car’s seat. It’s a must to keep leather happy for a long life.

Saddle soaps works well to clean all my smooth leather goods and Comeast Saddle Soap for Leather Cleaning (2.8 Oz.) is no exception. Add a little water to a clean cloth and wipe across the soap and then rub it into the item and buff it out. I like to use this kind of leather cleaner to ensure it’s clean before using a conditioner to protect it even though the saddle soap by itself does a decent job. I especially like to clean my dogs’ leather collars and leashes every time they get a bath because it keeps them soft in addition to cleaning the dirt. And although it says the product uses “Natural oils and conditioners” there are no ingredients listed, so I’m not sure whether I want to use it on their things since I don’t know whether there’s anything harmful in it.

Since I have never heard of this brand, I decided to do a test between it and a name brand on an old pair of farm boots – one boot was with Comeast and the other with name brand.
– Size of containers. Name brand is 88g and Comeast is 79g. Name brand container looks much bigger, but I think it’s because the lid is much higher than the saddle soap. Comeast utilizes space better so that the top of the lid actually touches the top of the container.
– Color of saddle soap. Name brand is a creamy yellow color and this brand is white. After doing an online search, I discovered both colors are normal and what you want to use if you don’t want to change the color of your leather.
– Cleaning with saddle soap. The only other difference I noticed was that the Comeast brand lathered quicker. The boots look the same after being cleaned by both products.
So, overall, I am happy with the Comeast saddle soap. Since ingredients weren’t listed on this product, I don’t know if there will be any long-term effects on the boot I used Comeast on. I’ll update if I notice any changes between the boots as I wear them.
