I did a “big 3” upgrade on my truck, as suggested for the more powerful alternator, and bought a different one. I was very unsettled about how they fit with the extra connection; it didn’t feel reliable… I ordered some of these because they looked really meaty. Got ‘em in today and installed them. They are night and day better. I feel confident about the connection, which is something given the stupid GM side post battery. Sure they cost more but a reliable connection to the battery is important. We will see how they hold up

This item is probably worth more than I paid. It does an excellent job.
My battery was running at 12v and is now at 15v(while running)
I love it.
I have HID headlights and they can drain my battery fast.
FINALLY my headlights are a lot brighter with no voltage drop!!
It’s always a headache trying to work with the sidepost battery. If you own a GMC you probably understand 🙁
It is super secure and threaded perfectly.
( No Stripped Battery.)
If you have a side post battery….
Buy This!!!
This made it a total Breeze!!

Great product, high qaulity and perfect for that amp addition.

First off, Saturn Ion – so a trunk-mounted battery right by the spare tire. Same setup as a Cobalt, G5, and HHR. But it’ll work with any side post battery.
It works perfect for me. My only gripe is it could use some kind of insulation on the post itself (obviously not including where you’re meant to hook up your amp). Since my battery lives next to the spare tire, it’s very close to the lug wrench and jack. I personally keep a 4 way lug wrench in the car, usually on top of the spare tire, so there’s the potential for contact. For now, I’ve moved the 4 way to the trunk itself, until I can wrap the exposed terminal in electrical tape.

Definitely a solid product. After a lot of research I decided to purchase these battery post adapters, and I’m not disappointed one bit. It takes a significant amount of effort to pry out and remove the stock gm terminal screws, but once you’ve removed them, these aftermarket posts go in very easy. The wrench size is much larger so be careful not to strip out the threads on your battery! And also be sure that your battery is mounted and secured to the mounting plate, as depending on your make and model you may have very tight clearance to the frame which could cause unwanted positive terminal contact when turning, accelerating or braking. I would have preferred if they came sold as a set of 2. Good job Rockford!

Thanks to the other review I knew to order 2 since I needed 2. These units are just great. I mean … they are battery posts extenders – a larger bolt that is tapped with internal threads for a smaller bolt (to attach your new power wires). Either you need them or you don’t. These are very nice quality. No problems at all, fit perfectly into the insulated ends of the factory battery cables. Your original terminals can be re-inserted if you want to go back to the factory stereo when you sell your car. There will be no sign that these were ever used.

It was easy to install it is working great as of now this is definitely one of the better brands I’ve tried just have to be careful not to over tighten and strip the threads on it I know it can happen. My only downside is that the bolt to tighten up the amp wire is a little bit too short but that was in my case probably wouldn’t have been a big deal but was using multiple 1/0 guage wires but it was still long enough to catch and tighten it up. I recommend it.

A little pricey but well worth it. Works great for the battery tender eye bolt tabs that I want to leave permanently attached to the battery on a vehicle that I have stored for the winter. Make sure you measure as they are longer that the standard side bolts that are used on all GM vehicles with side post mount batteries. The people that complain about them stripping out are either over tightening them or putting them in at an angle causing them to strip out or damaging the female battery end within the battery. Just make sure they go in straight and don’t over tighten them and these will work perfect.
