Right out if the box I used to give my car a warm water wash on a cold day, it worked great and steam rolled of my car the entire time. I purchased to have a source of warm water in my barn for my horse stuff. I use it to rinse the salty lather off my horse after a tough workout. I use it to wash my horse’s coat, mane and tail. I use the hot water setting for maximum warmth without risk of burning my horse. The flat spray setting easily penetrates my horses coat to thoroughly clean and rinse soap of my horse. The warm water is a game changer for my horse, he stands relaxed and quiet the entire time. Using cold water made my 16.3 hand thoroughbred fuss and fight me the entire time. My stablemate is purchasing this unit to replace her bulky propane hot water unit on a cart.

I’ve been looking for something like this for a long time! I have a big dog that has to be bathed outside so this is why I bought this. Sad thing is it doesn’t work! You will only get about 2 seconds of lukewarm water then it goes cold. I live in Socal where the groundwater isn’t as cold compared to other places. Also the shower setting isnt really a shower but more of a wider jet spray, kinda hurts the dog, but at the same time doesnt have a wide enough spray to truely rinse all the soap out of the dog. Great concept but DO NOT waste your money.

This product is excellent for what it is! I washed my dog outside in early March and it warmed up the water to a comfortable temp. Read reviews. Read the instructions. Test it before spraying an animal, it can be powerful enough to blast mildew off a fence.
As other reviews say, this is not magic. It is a small on-demand water heater. It can only heat up so much water so quickly. That means this will NOT give as much water as your hose! It will give a small stream, but that small stream will be a lot warmer than the water from the spigot.
This product compensates for the low water volume by increasing the pressure. There are several settings, not just heat. Some of the spray patterns will narrow the water stream to be a powerfully directed force. You can adjust the pressure up and down to some extent. To wash my dog I used the highest heat, “flat” spray pattern, and turned the force as far down as possible, and it worked great. It will take longer to wash the dog because there’s just less water coming out, but it was much less miserable for all involved.
The attached picture is a small patch I cleaned on my fence using this nozzle on the highest temp, highest pressure, most directed stream of water, from about 2 feet away. I don’t recommend using it to power wash a fence (way too slow going) but I was really impressed by the force behind it.

I was Disappointed with the Rheem Hot Wave for Post-Beach Cleanup.
I recently bought the Rheem Hot Wave with the dream of making post-beach cleanups with my kids a breeze. The idea of having instant hot water to rinse off sand was fantastic. However, in reality, the Hot Wave fell short of expectations in a couple of key ways.
Firstly, the water pressure was underwhelming. Washing away sand is no easy feat, and the Hot Wave’s spray simply lacked the power to effectively remove it. This resulted in a frustratingly slow cleaning process.
Secondly, the water temperature, while adjustable, never quite reached what I’d consider “hot.” It was more like warm at best. This wasn’t a dealbreaker for me, but it did dampen the initial appeal of having hot water readily available.
Overall, the Rheem Hot Wave wasn’t the beach clean-up savior I had hoped for. The low pressure and lukewarm water made it a chore to use. While it might be suitable for gentler tasks, it wasn’t up to the challenge of tackling sandy beach messes. Unfortunately, I had to return it.
If you’re looking for a way to quickly and efficiently rinse off sand after a beach trip, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

This is not a firehose. You should not expect to get normal water pressure. If you need that, get a real water heater and do the installation. This is a useful, low pressure, hot water tool. I have cold cold water in my well. I have a farm and washing the dog or horses with the regular hose is a cold-making event, uncomfortable for my senior animals. The water regularly freezes in the Winter. I got this to use as a tepid-to-warm water wash in the Summer and a de-icer in the Winter and it will serve those purposes very well. It heats up quick. It does have some temperature fluctuation if you hold it open for a long time, but it accomplishes warm water very well. Hot is hot but also not at a very strong pressure. It will be enough to warm up the water tank or melt the ice and snow off the car, easily. For the money and ease of use, this is a great little tool.

The water pressure was good, but the little gray thing that controls the pressure broke after two uses.
Water becomes warm, the handle is so bulky it’s hard to use.

used for dog baths- adjust your expectations- lukewarm water with low flow and mediocre pressure, however much better than cold water and allows for comfortable dog bath. I like this for ease of use, if they can fix the water flow and pressure this product would be fabulous. Easy to use outdoors, low cost , and portable. ( If you are expecting a bath-tub-like hot water flow you would be better getting a 30 gallon hot water tank and hard plumb it.) If you want to take the edge off the cold water so FiFi and Fido don’t shiver- this is for you.

This is pretty much useless with the amount of water pressure it produces. The water is a great temperature and the idea is awesome, however the product leaves much to be desired. I purchased to use to bath dogs and show horses, there is not enough water pressure to do either. Super disappointed in this product! Definitely not worth the cost, save your money or put it toward a portable insta hot water heater.
