There’s a couple of things a buyer should know about before getting these: 1) They are exactly the same size as the Tesla factory filters 2) They use soft foam on the edges, not paper so it would seem when the filters stack on each other, there’s a better seal – EXCEPT when you are going to uninstall these they won’t slide out 3) The pull tabs break off easily – when it’s time to replace, don’t expect to be able to pull these out. I broke the red ribbons tabs installing them! 4) The HEPA filter looks like it should capture more than the stock filters. 5) Don’t press too hard on the filters, because they will deform.
I installed these in about 30 minutes – the pry tool is helpful. My 2017 M3 screw was a 7mm hex and didn’t try using the supplied T20. I mildly crushed one of the filters installing, because the bottom one didn’t just “slide down” but needed to be forced down. As mentioned above, the red ribbon pull tab ripped on one of them – removing will likely mean deforming the filter to get it out (or some duct tape).
The new filters cleared up the mildew smell (exchange was 1 year over due), and works just fine.

Filters work as advertised. Appear to be made well. Easy to install. Nice that the tools were included as well. Would be difficult to replace without both tools.

We developed a musty, dirty sock smell in our Model Y, and thought there might be water pooled somewhere in the front of the car. After a google search, it became clear the easiest thing to start with was the cabin air filter which had not been changed since we bought the car 2 years ago. The install isn’t too bad, though that’s more of a Tesla issue. Just be prepared to get your yoga on as you lay on the floorboard to get access to the air filter panel. After 1 day, it smells like a brand new car. In fact, this product caused me to change the cabin filters in my other cars, as well. How have I been missing this important yearly maintenance step for the last few decades? Great product, and impressed with the results.

Fits ok on my Model 3, but significantly restricts the airflow causing the air conditioner to work ineffectively. In hot weather its a total no go, I’ve taken them out after 2 weeks and installed OEM Tesla ones. Waste of money in the end.

1. The airflow is more restrictive than the filter I replaced on my Model Y.
2. I tried to enable biohazard defense mode, which is a Tesla command to turn on the HEPA filter, and I got the message that there is no HEPA filter present. Not sure whether the car is lying or the vendor.

This is a high quality filter. I’ve used Tesla replacements and other inexpensive filters and these are significantly better. That said, the musty smell that some model 3s and Ys is most likely coming from the condenser coils. Use the foam cleaner when you switch out your filters. That will fix the problem and it’s what Tesla does when you schedule filter and coil service.

Fit perfect, they give you all the tools needed for the job. Watch a you tube video and 5 minutes of work and you’ll have your old cabin filters out and these SUPER nice (waaaay better than OEM) filters in. 5/5 Stars have fully recommended to all my Tesla friends!

It works but fit isn’t right size. It’s smaller than it needs to be. Red ribbon moves around a lot and gets lost when trying to pull the filter in and out.

These were very easy to install and helped with the moldy smell in my 2021 model 3. I even had my neighbor but then and helped her install them as well! Saved money with Tesla service!!
