These are amazing header gaskets for the money, they will seal leaks.

These are phenomenal! I’m a professional auto tech. I don’t do much performance work, mostly repairs to stock vehicles. I have never liked headers because they leak. I bought these to help a friend with his truck. It’s an older Ford with a 460 and leaky header flanges. These are the third set of gaskets I have installed this year. These are the only ones that didn’t leak soon after starting the engine. We’re 200 miles in and they are still leak free. They are silent and there is no soot around the flange. I believe we have a winner. I tested the torque after 200 miles and they haven’t loosened up. I did use new bolts this time around. ( there was nothing wrong with the old ones, they were not a matched set and that annoyed me) I just ordered the collector gaskets to match. Looking forward to getting those installed. These are beginning to change my attitude towards headers. I’ll update this if any leaks develop in the next year. This truck is used for towing in the Colorado mountains , not an easy life. If you don’t see an update all is well.

I have two vehicles with 460s in them ( A 79 F100 and a 77 Mercury Cougar). Both have aftermarket headers. The gaskets that came with the headers, in both cases, were useless. I’ve had *some* success using OEM style “Exhaust manifold gaskets”, but they always leaked a day or so after installation. I changed to these, initally balking at the cost, but they are worth it. These gaskets crush a bit as they are tightened, creating a very good seal over uneven surfaces. I will not use anything else anymore. Amazon has the best price on these, as well.

Very thick gaskets for sealing leaks in manifold

  5. Jessica Marie Lamar

Arrived bent in package which created cracks into the ports. Soft material and unless kept perfectly flat during shipping it will have cracks in the soft material. I won’t be able to use them.

  6. TIMOTHY MCCARTHY

I have a severely bashed header that made the flange bend and this sealed it up! impressive!

I did my research and the thicker Remflex gaskets are worth the extra money. They make up for minor inconsistencies in header flanges and compress nicely versus the old fiber type gaskets. 460 Fords are noted for stubborn exhaust leaks. This stopped my leak. My engine has 570 HP with aftermarket headers.

  8. Matthew Nelson

These were able to seal my big block ford when the standard gaskets would not. I don’t know if my Hooker headers are warped or what the issue is but these did the trick.
