My tailgate cables were in dire need of replacement on my ’96 Dodge Ram 2500. These cables look so much better than the rusty old ones. They seem to be the exact right length, and they didn’t bind up closing the tailgate at all. Everything fit as it should.
Installation took about 2 minutes with a power tool for the bolted-on end. I like that they are all black. One gripe is that they could have used blank heat shrink tubing. Having the heat shrink tube specification print makes them look a little cheap, but it really doesn’t affect anything in the grand scheme of things. Overall I’m very happy with these as a replacement and they support my tailgate as expected.

These cables are so easy to install – it’s a torx head bolt that you need to remove on each side, then just slip the slip on part off of where the tailgate locks on the top and the factory ones are off and these new ones go on just as easy. They’re a good solid matte black color and a great OEM replacement for the years specified in the listing.
