These were easy to install and fixed our door right up! It used to be so hard to close and we would have bought these sooner if we knew how cheap and easy of a fix this was!
Elvis –

Update: 2 Jan 2024. This product is going strong. There is no issue using the auto open button to close or open the rear door. With only one replaced, it is strong enough to easily keep rear door open, even in freezing cold weather. The way it is going, I may not need to use the second lift for years. All the best.
Original post:
This product Does fit and is not 1/4″ too long. You just need to push up on the gate until you have a good angle. Easier with two people, or if you have great shoulder stamina. IMPORTANT: I only removed the bolt/screw at the bottom of the gate; the one attached to door, not to the one attached to the vehicle frame. Then I unscrewed the old lift from the screw & head attached to frame. DO NOT remove the bolt/screw from the frame. The new lift will screw right into the old screw & head while they are still attached to frame. Then I unscrewed the other old screw & head that attaches to door from old lift and replaced it with the one on the new lift. You should now have a new lift attached to frame on one end with both old screws & heads. Now (with that other person’s help) push up the gate until you have good alignment, and gently/slowly screw it in, being careful not to strip. Last note: I only replaced ONE lift, because some installers said they had problems with it closing/opening after replacing both. Works great with one new and one old lift. I’ll follow-up in a few months and let you know how it is working. All the best.
